Ike likes Millie, and Millie likes Ike. Ike loves his duckie doll. Millie loves being under the blankies.

Arrival Story:
Ike and Millie are both adopted from www.wischirescue.org. Ike was found walking the streets of Milwaukee in pretty bad shape. He is missing his right eye, and he has a kink in his tail from being broken, but doesnt seem to mind either. Millie was found floating on garbage after hurricane Katrina. After going through all the Katrina reuniting procedures for families and their pets, Millie went unclaimed for over 6 months. She also came to Wisconsin Chihuahua Rescue, where Mommy got to meet her, and fall in love.

Wow..its been 6 months since we've done any updating on our lives....sorry guys!

Lets see.. Mommy left the boys home in september and took Millie to florida with her. She fit right in with the other old jewish ladies there, and did not want to come home. She was pampered so much I don't think her feet ever touched the ground the entire time we were there. She loved the sun, and had great florida outfits to show off, a pretty sun dress, a tennis outfit, and a fancy dress for the Jewish New Year that we celebrated with many friends and family.

Ike is still a pain in the butt....running around crazy. Eating anything and everything thats on the floor. Paper is his favorite food. He enjoys raiding garbage cans to pull out all the tissues, and paper towels to chew up. We had quite a scare in a few months ago with his eye. Being that he only has one, we try to keep it very healthy, however he developed a massive corneal ulcer, and was on 3 kinds of drops for weeks! The ulcer went away, without surgery, thank goodness, but he will be on drops the rest of his life. He has befriended a male human finally. Mommy's friend Bobby spends lots of time with him when Mommy goes on business trips....so they bonded. He will even kiss Bobby on the nose. This is the same man that he BIT on the nose this past summer. So, slowly but surely this ex=stray bad boy is becoming a good little doggie. The only other boy he likes is Gizmo the cat...which he thinks is a big fluffy dog.

So, all in all, Ike and Millie Goldstein have had quite a few months, and are finally living the lives they deserve. Full bellies, warm blankets and a million kisses from their mommy everyday!

Well Millie had her last surgery on the 20th. This time she just had four lumps removed. The next day we got a call from the vet, that they were all benign!
So, between the first surgery and this last one, all the cancer, and its margins were removed, and she is considered cancer free. Thanks to all of you who crossed your paws, and sent good wishes.
Love, Ike and Mille.

Millie's biopsy came back! The tumor itself was benign, however the cells around it look as if they are transitioning into cancerous cells. She also has 4 more little bb size tumors that have "seeded" since the operation. She will be going in on the 20th to have those removed. Not a mastectomy this time..just lumpectomies. This will be her last surgery. If they are cancerous, we will just bring her home and love her. If they are not cancerous GREAT! She is so old, and has been through so much already, surgeries, Hurrican Katrina, and having to deal with Ike! He is out of control. She is such a great, well trained (kinda, compared to Ike), that enough is enough. I will let you all know the results after they come back at the end of the week that she has her surgery. Cross your paws again!
