Arrival Story: We had been looking for a dog for a few months. One day we went to a harvest festival downtown and for some reason walked down a pretty deserted street. A lady there had a Maltese puppy. She wanted $400 for him but had no papers of any kind. While we were talking to her, another lady came up to us and said, "I just found a dog exactly like that and I can't keep her. I can't find her owners. Would you like to come and see her?" We followed the lady home and met our very precious and wonderful Daisy, took her home, and enjoyed her devotion and wacky humor for 14 years.

I've been at the Rainbow bridge for 7 1/2 weeks now, and I can see Mommy still crying her heart out over me. Mom, don't you know that I'm with you still? I'm with you more now, because I never have to be away from you anymore. I can follow you day and night, wait through the dark hours until the light returns, just as I did every night before. Can't you feel me cuddling up to you? Put this sadness aside now. You have taken another baby into your life and he needs you just as I once did. He needs your full attention and all your love so he too can learn the basics--going potty outside, to sit, and stay, and he already knows to come when he hears his name. Take joy in him, Mom, just as you used to take joy in me. That little boy is adorable and has so many cute ways. He is aching for your love. It's all right if you still miss me; maybe you always will until we're together again. But give him your happiest hours so that he can know the safety, warmth, and love that you surrounded me with. He deserves a happy life too.

I'm watching Little Bailey trying to learn to be a good dog. He's still very young and doesn't understand very much yet. If I were still there, I would explain things to him and show him how, but I'm at the Rainbow Bridge now so he's just going to have to learn it all by himself just like I did so many years ago when I was his age. I thought maybe Gypsy the Cat could help him, but so far, she's kind of afraid of him, since he's bigger than she is and much more aggressive. So she mostly wants to get away from him, not teach him.
It's hard watching Mommy try to teach him and knowing I can't help. Maybe I can talk to him in his sleep tonight and kind of clue him in. I'll try it.
Mommy, I heard y ou today when you said you love me. I love you too and I miss you so much. But I'm a patient doggie and I'm waiting for you and I know we'll be together again someday and then it will be forever. By then Bailey and Gypsy will be here too and we can all have fun together.
