Arrival Story:
I adopted Kunik and his brother Kenai at the age of 12 weeks when they and 30+ other Siberians were rescued from a puppymiller who could not afford to feed her dogs. Both puppies were quite shy. Kunik has come a long way and now runs as primary lead on my recreational sled team.
Bio:
We lost Kenai (Kunik's brother) to complications from a blockage. He died in surgery just before his 3rd birthday...a heart-wrenching sad time for us. Kunik became a little more outgoing, not being able to rely on his brother any longer.
The picture of him showing the scar on his neck was taken a few days after parathyroidectomy surgery on Dec. 4, 2008. He recovered well, and did very well. Sadly, we lost Kunik suddenly on March 31, 2011. He died at home and his ashes reside in the same grave area as his brother Kenai and my dearest dog, referred to as their "Uncle" Gibson. They loved each other so much, and now they are together forever. Much missed in this life, though.
