Arrival Story:
My mom was feeling a bit depressed as her only child was graduating high school and about to go to college. They had a springer that had to be put down a few years before. It broke their hearts and they vowed never to get another springer again. So they got a Chow mix, but it just wasn't the same. Well one day they came to find me at a local rescue league, around the time the daughter was graduating from high school, and they brought me home the same day. I was an empty nest dog, but that was fine with me- that just meant even more attention!

Bio:
I am an evil genius! I can open pantry doors, and even have turned on the stove. One of my favorite people calls me a "brazen hussy," which is pretty true. If you come to visit my mom or me, you will be rubbing me by the time you leave. I was recently diagnosed with Cushings Disease but, after settling into my meds, it hasn't slowed me down in the least!

Lady's Lovely Life

Well, Judge left early this week. We had a really good time. Judge is a city dog, so I think he really enjoyed going to the park (off leash! Shh, don't tell!) and going swimming anytime we wanted to. My dog walkers, 2 kids from around the block, thought that I looked really sad now that Judge was gone. (I am a little sad, but probably more tired from all of our high jinks together!) The kids brought me over to their house for the afternoon until Mom got home from work. Now, I was a rescue dog and have been bounced around quite a bit. I didnt know this new place, Judge wasn't here, and I knew mom wouldn't just abandon me. So I took my leave. There are 5 kids in their house, so sneaking out was no problem. I roamed around the neighborhood for a little bit while looking for good stinky garbage. I found myself a bone and headed back to my house. I got home after Mom did, she didn't think too much of me not being there, the kids usually take me out in the late afternoon. But boy was she surprised when she went outside and found me happily chomping away- by myself! The kids came by later, totally out of breath from looking for me. Mom let them know that it wasn't a good idea to take me to their house anymore.

Judge is coming!

Judge is coming to stay at my house for 2 whole weeks! He is more than my best friend, he is the annoying little brother I never had. Judge likes to give me kisses. I pretend at first that I don't like it, but after a little while, I am giving him kisses too. My mom likes it when Judge stays with us because it is the only time I won't get into the trash.
Judge and I were roommates for a couple months. Before my mom closed on our new house, but after she sold our last one, I had to stay with Judge and his family for awhile. Mom's in-between house couldn't have dogs. Not that I cared though! Staying with Judge was like being on one long extended vacation! While his parents eat dinner, they feed us cheese from the table. What could be better than that? Judge's parents, Linda and Tom, are really nice to me. They think of me as their other dog. I was even on their Christmas card with Judge (he's the liver and white springer in the picture with me)! I get to watch football with Tom while Judge hangs out with Linda. I don't really understand the game, but I sure understand belly rubs!
You wouldn't believe the attention 2 springers get walking down the street, I can't wait for all the *extra* attention!

The most wonderful time of the year!

It is almost that time again! The time when I go can swimming again, everyday! Mom already let me go swimming once, but it was really cold when I got out. Last year Mom would try not to let me swim too much because of my ear infections, but this year after all the problems with my Cushings Disease, she is going to let me go anytime I want- which is all the time!

Maybe I will catch a swan this year. I was really close last year. Actually, if you ask my Aunt Laura and Uncle Jay, they will tell you I was probably closer to drowning that catching that swan. I was determined to get it, so I swam chasing it all the way out into the harbor. I was starting to reach the channel markers when that guy in the row boat came and herded me back to shore. Boy were Laura and Jay mad at me. I didn't care though, I was really proud of myself for ridding Salem harbor of those nasty swans!
