My New Title!

So if anyone is wondering, R3GL stands for Really, Really Ridiculously Good Looking. The original holder of the title is Mingus, and he said I earned the title too! I'm pretty honored by the whole thing cause Mingus is one of my heroes. Mom says my title should be R3B, Really Really Ridiculously Bad, just cause I chewed up her debit card, she's the one that left it on the desk, not my fault, but she had to tell the bank that she needed a new one cause her dog chewed it up, said she felt like she was eight years old.

Kansas Puppy Rescue

Anyone that's been following the forums has probably noticed that there has been a huge effort by several Dogsters to rescue six of the cutest puppies ever from Hutchinson, Kansas who were in an unsafe situation, get them all transported from there to Des Moines, Iowa, to foster care for two there, the remaining four to Columbus, Ohio, where one has a forever home and foster care for another, and the remaining two on to a rescue in New Jersey. Thanks to our Dog of the Week Takoda, they have been taken from Kansas and are now in Iowa. The puppies will be transported from there to Columbus, and on to NJ by more volunteer Dogsters.

So much help is needed, the puppies are 5 to 6 months old and have had no previous vet care, they now have their first shots and have been found healthy, still, there are the costs of transporting and fostering until forever homes can be found, spaying, their next set of shots, I know there are SO many generous Dogsters. Freedom!

Free from the harness!!, she's been making me wear that when we walk for the last couple of weeks cause she said I did something called "regress" and was pulling her too much. So yesterday she tried again with my regular collar, I pulled twice when we first started and when I did she turned around and walked the other way without warning me, and I remembered, oh yeah, pay attention to mom and no pulling or we'll never get anywhere. So I was so good the rest of the way, she said OK, as long as you behave this well, no more harness.

I'm not sure about this one, but I did something else right yesterday cause she hugged me and told me what a good boy I was getting to be, all that happened, I asked to go out and she opened the door to let me, and the gate was open, its NEVER open, but there it was, I learned how to open it myself a while back and usually the latch is clipped shut, but it was wide open and I guess she didn't notice it. So I went through the gate, walked around the yard, then just laid down out there and watched for the nice neighbor lady that gives me greenies sometimes. Mom came out to check on me and I guess she freaked when she saw the gate was open cause she came flying through it, but there I was, just laying there. She called me and I came right to her, hey, isn't that what she's been telling me to do for months now? But it feels pretty nice to be told I'm a GOOD boy.

Has Mom Gone Crazy?

I just don't get it, they start watching something on TV, I think its called football, and I think mom has lost her mind. She yells and makes all this noise, and I think I've done something wrong, what I don't know cause I'm just laying there chewing my bone, but why else would she be having such a fit? So I try to climb up in her lap and make up to her but she just gives me a pet and says to go lay down, no hugs or smoochies, no cookies, no telling me what a sweetie I am. I think Mellow knows something about this, doesn't seem to bother him at all, and I'm pretty sure he's smirking at me. I don't like this football thing much, I don't want mom to be crazy.

Rebellion

Here's the situation, I'm ten months old now and a pretty big boy, and getting a little tired of always having to do things when I'm told, and so sometimes I just won't. Why should I sit and stay somewhere when I really want to bite Mellow's tail and chase him around the house? Sitting and staying and downing and all that is really getting pretty annoying, Mellow can suck up if he wants to, I'm not. Mom says I'm not so tough and she can deal with me, and now I don't ever get a cookie, or even a pet or ear scratch, until I do what she tells me to do. She won't even let me out the door until I sit down first. So I got this great idea and when I want a cookie or a pet I go through all these dumb commands she taught me as fast as I can so I can get my cookie or pet and then move on to something way more interesting, but she's not cooperating with me, as soon as I'm done doing all this silly stuff and expecting my cookie she makes me do just one of them, and won't give in to me even though I complain in my MOST annoying whiny/howly voice. She's even started putting that rotten harness thing on me again when we take a walk cause she says I'm pulling too hard again, I hate that thing, I knew I should have destroyed it before, but she was way too careful always putting it up out of my reach. Mellow, the suck up, always walks by her side and they're too slow and there's so much to see and smell out there, I just can't wait on them. Well now I HAVE to go as slow as them cause I REALLY hate it when I pull to hurry them up and that stupid harness makes my legs feel funny, she said its only something called pressure, all I know is I don't like it much. You'd think Mellow would back me up on some of this, we could RULE this house if he'd just help out a little, but he just grabs me by the neck and growls at me to behave. And he calls ME a mamma's boy. Big old hmmph.

Confused

OK, so we have this floor that's pretty slippery, mom had to change it a couple of months ago cause the hot water heater leaked and ruined the old one, she put a new one in that's just like the old one only a different color. So I forget its slippery sometimes and yesterday I threw my giggle ball down the hall and chased after it as fast as I could go, slipped and fell hard on my hip. I hobbled to mom with my loudest, highest-pitched whining hoping for a little sympathy, and maybe a cookie, never works, she just felt my leg and watched me for a few minutes until I stopped hobbling, but anyway, what confuses me, whenever I fall on the floor she tells somebody named Darn It that she should have put carpeting down instead of wood, but every day when she pushes that long stick around for me to chase, she calls it Swiffering and I love that game, she says thanks to someone named God that she didn't put carpeting in, just LOOK at this hair. So which is it? Any pup know?

OK, Here Goes

Mom says Mellow really wanted to start a diary, so I have to start one too. I'm way too busy for this, but she said so, so here I am. I want to go outside and play, its raining, Mellow doesn't like rain, mom doesn't like rain, I LIKE rain, I don't care, but I don't want to be outside by myself either, so I guess we'll have to do what Mellow wants, like always. Mellow thinks he's the boss of me, when I was little mom kind of kept him off my back, but now, she pretty much lets me fend for myself. But if he goes too far, all I have to do is find mom and look pathetic and complain, and then Mellow gets in trouble, hee hee. He calls me a sissy momma's boy, and its true, I am. OK, that's really it, out of here.
