Haven't posted in awhile, we've all been pretty busy and running mom pretty ragged. She started taking us to a new dog park that opened up nearby, swears it saved her sanity.
Take a look at this guy Levi Mom and her really close friends that she made during the rescue of Lainie and her sisters, they got busy again. One of them found a picture of Levi in the Hutchinson, KS shelter and she thought he could maybe be the girls' brother, showed the picture to everyone else, and they all agreed that he really, really could be, his looks, height, weight, age, color, even the size of his feet, they all were pretty convinced. So they got the shelter to agree to release him to them, and after neutering this week (sorry bud, ouch) he'll be picked up at the shelter and taken to Riley and Raven's home. Not sure what will happen after that, but they all seem really happy to have gotten this far, and have high hopes that soon he'll have a happy home just like his (most likely) sisters. You can read all about Levi, and the original Kansas Six Pack right here at CDE
While they were at it, they decided to see what they could do about Uncle Buck, a GSD in the same shelter, his picture is on Levi's page, he looks very sad and unhappy, and SO skinny. Everyone cross paws for him, they're working with a GSD rescue to try and get him out and into the hands of someone capable of helping him.

We've been love tagged by our really beautiful and wonderful pal Rosie, and we're going to pick three of our pals and love tag them and tell them why we think they're so terrific. Hard to pick three!!! But here goes:
First is Takoda who's mom is always going to have a special place in our heart for making that long, long drive to Kansas and taking such special care of our six girls.
Second is Riley because of her mom's support and help, for all her work in rescue, and mostly for being such a great and caring friend.
Third is Zoe for her mom's support and help as well, and for ALL the laughter along the way.

So Lana, one of the Kansas 6 Pack, is now my sister, mom's changing her name to Lainie. Its OK, I guess, she keeps Caelen occupied so he's not stalking me all over the house anymore so that's good. And she's kind of sweet, now that I've shown her the ground rules. So I guess I'll give my OK to this. We're all still kind of confused with who gets what training/attention/play and when, but its working itself out. When I get tired of waiting my turn, I just shove the other two out of the way and get in mom's lap. Mom says we're looking for a new house soon with a real yard and that we'll really love that. I'm sure, that patio out there was awful small just for me and Caelen, and now with Lana, just seems that much smaller. She says we'll have plenty of room to run and chase and wrestle. Fine by me.
Mom is just a little sad this morning about people, says they can be so disappointing, that unlike us dogs, sometimes people lie and steal and cheat and then make excuses for it and blame everyone else. But she says she's not really too sad, the rescue of the 6 Pack and all the fantastic people that helped to make that happen, people that are truly kind, compassionate and giving far outnumber the liars, thieves and cheaters. But she is a little sad for the people that don't know how much happier they would be if they would just be themselves and be proud of what they truly have, but instead would rather stay all wrapped up in maintaining a false version of themselves. So its all too deep for me, but she wanted to say all that, so now its said. I say just give them a warning growl to let 'em know you're onto them and move on. Simple. She said good advise.

Wow, WHAT an honor, thank you SO much Dogster HQ. Mom says thanks so much to everyone, and promises to write to everyone who have sent rosettes, pal requests and pmails as quickly as she can. She's been really busy with the rescue of the six Kansas pups, you can read about them HERE and HERE. I don't exactly understand what's going on, all I know is she was gone for a really long time the day after Christmas and when she came home she had four puppies that she said were going to live here for a few days, that they were in trouble and we had to help them. So I've been kind of busy too helping her to keep them all in line. She says I'm helping too much, not sure what she means by that either, all I know is there should be some order around here, and Caelen sure isn't going to be any help there. Mom says that she has tears in her eyes half the time these days, cause the Dogster members are just the greatest and really step up in times of need and it makes her weepy. So along with helping her with these puppies, I have to give her extra attention and kisses too.
I AM really honored, and my mom is thrilled, thank you SO much.

Anyone that's been following the forums has probably noticed that there has been a huge effort by several Dogsters to rescue six of the cutest puppies ever from Hutchinson, Kansas who were in an unsafe situation, get them all transported from there to Des Moines, Iowa, to foster care for two there, the remaining four to Columbus, Ohio, where one has a forever home and foster care for another, and the remaining two on to a rescue in New Jersey. Thanks to our Dog of the Week Takoda, they have been taken from Kansas and are now in Iowa. The puppies will be transported from there to Columbus, and on to NJ by more volunteer Dogsters.
So much help is needed, the puppies are 5 to 6 months old and have had no previous vet care, they now have their first shots and have been found healthy, still, there are the costs of transporting and fostering until forever homes can be found, spaying, their next set of shots, I know there are SO many generous Dogsters. Please read all about them, the rescue effort, and how you may be able to help HERE.
Thank you, and Happy Holidays to all!!

Caelen and I received our very first Anonymous Rosettes, from Santa's Helper! There were no clues with the message, and we can't figure out who sent them so we can thank them! We love them, and loved having such a wonderful, thoughtful surprise waiting for us Sunday morning.

That's it, I guess our whole world today, HUGE game, #1 OSU against #2 Michigan. Mom says that the two teams always had a big rivalry anyway and every year is crazy when they play, but its extra crazy this year because of the rankings. She was gonna make me wear an OSU bandana, but guess she changed her mind, she says my collar is already scarlet and gray and that's good enough, whew, I don't like wearing stuff.

Been boring lately, not much to talk about. Mom's been pretty busy so we haven't been anywhere much. Browns still losing, three weeks in a row, that makes mom sad, I don't really care but I pretend that I do, I can look really sad when I need to. Weather is getting colder, I LOVE it, mom not so much, but she's been taking us for longer walks and more often cause she said we don't have to worry about getting sick from the heat anymore. Caelen seems to be settling down some, I don't have to spend nearly the time I used to making him behave, but mom says he still has a ways to go. He still tries to jump all over everyone, and then I have to jump too, I need to get in between him and whoever he's jumping on and growl at him to stop it, grab him by the neck and pull him off, and then we're BOTH in trouble for jumping. Geesh.
One other thing, our neighbor lady named Marge used to give us greenies whenever she saw us outside, mom asked her and asked her to stop unless mom was out there too cause she's pretty old and we got so excited about the greenies that we tried to jump all over her. Well, Caelen would jump and I would HAVE to jump too so he wouldn't get them both, unless mom was right there to make us sit, Marge would tell us to sit, but she has such a soft sweet voice I don't think Caelen even heard her. Mom said she was afraid we'd break Marge, and behaving so badly we shouldn't be getting any treats anyway. So whatever she said must have finally worked, cause now Marge will come over and pet us but she never gives us greenies anymore. CAELEN, its all his fault.
Wow, that's it, it really HAS been boring around here lately.

Mom: A moment to acknowledge the day and our fallen.
So I'm used to this, I was around for football season last year but Caelen wasn't, he's not sure what's going on. I'm not telling him anything, I had to figure it out for myself, so he can too. They've got two teams they watch all the time, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. They might watch other games too, but at least you can deal with them during those games, just leave 'em alone for the Buckeyes and Browns. Pretty simple really. I've already trained them to be sure that we have a bone or Kong or something during the game, and to be sure that we're walked first and have been outside enough, did all the hard work, Caelen doesn't even begin to understand what I've gone through, he just gets all the benefits, as usual, and no appreciation for me. So when they start yelling about refs or missed catches or whatever and Caelen gets all worried about it, I'm not going to be the one to tell him its nothing to do with us, its because of something that happened on TV, could be good or bad, who knows, hard to tell, they're just loud. Pretty silly though if you ask me, I don't think those TV people can even hear them.
