Arrival Story:
I was looking for a companion for Tinabina and saw this dog listed on PetFinders. I'd been hearing lately about the plight of black dogs in the pound, how they rarely get adopted. Well, Wunjo and Nikki, my dogs who passed away in 2005, were both black dogs, and they were amazing. So, I decided to look for a black dog. All his little bio said was that he was gentle and kind of shy. He was at an animal shelter and scheduled to be euthenized on April 12. The folks at Tuffies Rescue picked him up for me and I went and got him on April 13. It's worked out unbelieveably well - Tina loves him, he loves her, and everybody thinks he's lived with me for years already. What a great dog!

Bio:
Poor little dog - first a stray, then in the pound for five weeks, just a day away from being killed! Who could walk by his pen and keep going? Well, I'm glad they did, because he's mine now. An incredibly great dog! He's gorgeous! On March 11, 2011, I took Roch to the vet, he had been acting strangely and there had been an odd incident on a walk a couple of weeks earlier, so I was watching him closely. It turns out my best bud had lymphoma. He declined pretty quickly, kinda rallied on the 22nd, we had a great day on the 23rd together, but that evening he took a turn for the worse. We took him down to the emergency room and got him some relief (luckily, it was a very quiet night there!). The next day the vet was kind enough to come over to the house so we could say goodbye at home. Every other dog I get will have to live up to the bar that Rochester set! He was the world's greatest dog.
