I'm still kind stunned from when Mum told me. The Rotties Rule is a real honour - even though Freya does all the talking, BOL.
But I don't write in my diary all that often. I'm more an action girl - throw me a tennis ball, and I'm yours for life, or until you arm wears out.
Gee thanks, so much, Diary Gal. I'm honoured.
But I'm also saddened that I received the honour for a diary about our terrible floods. However, even amidst the tragedy, destruction and heartache, there are wonderful stories of families reunited, lost pets found, and a community determined to work together and recover from this. Though I do think the Army should shoot any looters - we've had a few. I mean, if you don't want to be part of the community.
Please continue to send you prayers for the people of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. And also to our neighbours across the oceans in Sri Lanka and Brazil who are also experiencing flooding.
Between floods and blizzards 2011 is shaping up to be the year of bad weather - I hope not.

Thinking of all our Queensland furrends on Catster and Dogster, and also all the other critters and folk affected by the flooding.
Be safe.

Freya and I are doing the walk again this year. It will be the third time for me, and Freya's second.
Check out our sponsor page at
https://millionpawswalk.trickytix.com.au/sponsor/view/32 88
There's a pic of us from last year.
The first walk was in 1994. Sieglinde was born in September 1993, so she was old enough to attend the first walk. She went on every walk including the one in 2006. That was my first walk and her last. Actually, the St John's Ambulance people kept an eye on her while Mum and I walked, cos by then she was rather old. She passed away that September, but I have taken over the baton, and will see that her favourite charity continues to be support by the Muttley Crew, with moral support from The Down Under Gang of kitty cats.
It's that once a year day - when we do our bit for creatures great and small who don't have the advantages we have, and show our support for our fellow four-legged, feathered, finned or whatever critters.
We'll post pics afterwards, so you can see how cute we look in our bandanas.

I'm so glad Mum got a 10,000 litre water tank, cos we're in the middle of a drought, with the dam levels at 20%. But we've had a fair amount of rain where we live, and the tank is just about full, so Dad gave me a Christmas treat and let me have a little play with the hose. It's my next favourite game after chasing my ball.
We had some turkey and ham with our dinner for Christmas, too. So did the cats, but they won't share. Mum always gives us a bit of whatever she has, as long as it isn't bad for us, like onions.
I hope everyone at Dogster (and Catster) have as good a Christmas as we have had.

Brinn tagged me. I've never played before.
Here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged need to post in their diary the rules and their seven pawsome facts. They then chose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don't forget to bark a pmail that they have been tagged and need to read your diary or send a rosette announcing they have been tagged. Copy and paste rules in your diary then put in your info.
Here are 7 fun facts about Valkyrie:
1. I can leap really high to catch tennis balls and frisbees.
2. I love playing in my wading pool - I get down on my haunches, and put my head under the water, and bob my tennis balls like apples.
3. I like watching Inspector Rex on tv - he's a very cute German Shepherd.
4. I can jump onto the table where the cats are fed with one leap, and clean up their plates.
5. I have to have at least one paw in my drinking water when I take a drink.
6. I like to burrow under the doona, and curl up in a ball behind Mum's legs.
7. I like to show Mum and Dad how much I care by licking and cuddling when we're in bed.
Here are my seven!

Freya thinks because she's growing, she can rule the roost. Pushy little soul. Tries to take everything I play with off me. She's only interested in the toys Seany or I are playing with, and there are plenty for everyone.
She knows my passion is playing ball. Mum throws, and I chase - for hours, well at least until Mum gets tired. Even in the hot midday sun, I'm ready to play. Mum says I may be a mad dog, but she's not English, and won't throw the ball when it's really hot.
Freya doesn't play ball, she just waits on the sidelines and barrels into me as I run past, and tries to knock me off my feet so she can take my ball. Seany sits at Mum's feet and ask for pats. But he runs a bit if Freya decides to play with him. She doesn't really take no for an answer, that puppy. Like I said - pushy.
Mum says we're her little pack because we follow her around. She doesn't like it when she's trying to do housework because every time she turns around, she nearly falls over us, so she usually throws us outside to amuse ourselves for a while. We just hang around the back door, and look miserable in the hope she'll feel sorry for us and let us back in.

Actually he's been home for two weeks - I've just been too busy to write. We're having a period of adjustment at the moment - he wants to sleep next to Mum, with his head on the pillow. That's been my spot for six months while he was away. I always beat him into bed, but then he gets bossy and orders me to move, and I have to go down the end of the bed with the CATS. Ra bites me, and holds my nose still with his claws while he washes it. He's a bully - just cos I try and wash ALL of him.
Still, it's great having Dad home - I get treats, and cuddles, and the ball thrown, but there's not as many leftovers. And he won't let me in the front yard with his car - I didn't put many scratches on the paint while he was gone. In fact, I think they may have been there before he left, and he just didn't notice.

Gee - my own diary - I'll admit the title is a bit of a pun.
Sieglinde has talked about the Walk in her diary. I just wanted to tell you about the funny dogs I met during the walk. They stood on two legs, and smelt funny - but they were friendly.
It was my first walk - and boy did I enjoy it. Mum said I was very good, too. She thought both of us on her own (Dad is still overseas) might be a handful. But, after the initial excitement wore off, I was happy to just tag along, and say hi to lots, and lots, and lots of dogs. There were bigs ones, little ones. A large grey dog got friendly with Sieglinde (at her age!) - his head was bigger that both of ours together. And he slobbered something terrible. But he was very friendly. They kept sharing the water bowl. I guess it's a bit like a doggy nightclub, except in the daylight.
