Arrival Story:
Claire was a "return" dog at the shelter three times because of behavior issues... including guarding the child in the family, not being housebroken, and hiding under the bed (and growling/snarling if you tried to get her out). But she would look at me with these big brown eyes every time I walked by.... So of course, I had to take her home! She was only nine months old.
Bio:
The first weekend I had her she jumped off a second story balcony with me standing right next to her! Luckily she only broke her leg. She came to work with me at the shelter for a year until she was better socialized (and was no longer trying to kill my cats). She became so good with cats that she would become a foster mommy for countless litters of stray underaged kittens at the shelter, especially if they were all alone. Claire is the best dog in the whole world!! (I tell her not to tell Max, but I tell him that too.)
