Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Birthday: September 9th 2003
Likes: Loves to cuddle with me at night & go to sleep.

Pet-Peeves: Gets irritated when Kadie hogs a toy & runs with it. Can't stand getting his toenails clipped. He also hates flashing lights. I am convinced he knows I have seizures from flashing light & that is why he hates it so much.

Favorite Toy: Doesn't really have a particular toy, but he has a blanket that he is crazy about that we call his fefe.

Favorite Food: Jerky strips.

Favorite Walk: His big thing isn't walking, he likes to go riding & begs us to take him riding.

Best Tricks: When I tell him "inside or outside" he goes inside/outside. He sits when told to sit. Also, there was a bee after me once & he heard me scream & here he come to the rescue & soared up in the air to get the bee that was after me. He is VERY intelligent!

Arrival Story: We were at a flea market & come up on somebody selling puppies & I had to look cuz I love dogs. Come to find out, it was my cousin & we had no idea he bred dogs. The breed was American Pitbull Terrier & yeah we were skeptical at first cuz you hear so much, but I fell completely in love with one of the puppies & he come home with us. Getting him was the best thing we have ever done. He is wonderful! From now on, I will always own a pitbull.

Bio: My baby loves to play & cries for me to play with him. Even though he enjoys playing with our other pitbull, he loves playing with us too. He is very affectionate. He enjoys clean blankets and sheets & has to snoot on them as soon as you lay them down, lol.

We got an overall good report from the vet about Choppa this past Friday evening!!!! The vet said he was expecting Choppa to look better, but not as good as he does & that he was impressed!!! His left ear is completely clear of infection. The right ear, which was his worst, still has some infection in it so we are going to continue to treat it by washing & medicine for the next 10 days & then bring Choppa back & if it isn't all cleared up by then, then he will be on antibiotics again. He did place him back on steroids & we are going to do a lowering dose to see if we can have Choppa feeling good on 5 mg and the vet said if so then we may just leave him on that permanently to help with the residual nerve damage effects. Choppa's front left leg seems to flare up & he will do a little hobble with it and it is like he has to think about putting that paw to the ground & if he doesn't walk slow he forgets & will fall sometimes. Also, he can chew & eat on his own, but it takes him a long while because he doesn't grab that well. He said his front left leg and how he struggles to grab food may be permanent damage from the nerves that he will have to deal with from now on, but said that time will tell & that sometimes there is nerve recovery, but nerve recovery is age dependent so it varies, but we will see. All in all though, the vet said that Choppa looks so good to him now & is real pleased!

After 3 agonizing weeks of struggling with Choppa today was the 1st day he ate some by himself! He can't open his mouth up to chew things like a bone or a toy BUT I am so very encouraged! I put his kibbles in his bowl, put water for the kibbles to soak up & after it sets up it is stiff & so when he puts his snout in to get his food he is able to grab it easier because it isn't moving around. We also put Pedialyte in there to be sure he was able to drink & he lapped up all of the juice! Today is one of the best days ever for me!!! Here Choppa was 3 weeks ago knocking on heaven's door, looked absolutely horrible with one vet saying if he wasn't better in 3 days to think about putting him down THEN we see the local vet here & he gives us steroid, antibiotic & ear wash and medicine & now after a week of this I am getting my boy back!!!!! Love you so much Choppa & mom and dad wasn't going to give up on you baby!!!

Okay so NEVER take your animals to Animal Medical Center in Hattiesburg. I paid $525 over the weekend to take Choppa there for the 24 hour monitoring, fluid, bloodwork and SUPPOSEDLY a complete physical exam under heavy sedation BUT this vet here where I live said that his ears are severely infected real deep & prostate is enlarged from infection & all that can present with stroke-like symptoms. Soooo steroid, antibiotics & ear wash & medicine and said he is hopeful for Choppa & said we should see a big improvement with him regaining to eat & drink within 4 days! Please continue praying for a full and complete recovery for Choppa!!!
