Arrival Story:
I have had Pia essentially since birth and we are extremely close. The instant I saw her there was an unbreakable bond. She is unlike some Min Pins in that she is quite calm and quiet, yet retains all those Min Pin traits we love like zeal for life and loyalty.
Bio:
Pia is a miracle dog, really. About 5-years ago she contracted Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever from a tick bite and almost died. I take extremely good care of her, never had any tick problem, it was a walk around a grassy lake that did it. We spend 6-hours in the ER as no one could figure out the problem. She was dying in my arms, bleeding from everywhere. Fortunately the vet ran a test for tick bites and we nailed the problem. She wasn't expected to live at all. He immune system was shot, but she survived. She is on prednisone and anti seizure meds, which I am told will shorten her life, but make her more comfortable. Each day I give her the best that I can. We walk in the sun and she goes everywhere with me. It is all about quality of life now.
