Arrival Story:
A Sibe-lover on the Sibernet List Service posted an "URGENT-Out of Time" message for Rockie in the Barrrow County Animal Shelter. I saw her picture in the cage and just felt so bad for her that I feverishly called leaving scads of messages to not put her down - I would come get her. I hooked up with Atlanta Siberian Husky Rescue and became Roxie's foster Mom to take care of health issues until we could find her a "forever family" of her own. She is a cool sibe - a true "runner" by breeding.

Bio:
After finding a great foster family Rockie escaped one day and brought home a neighbors pet rabbit in her mouth. Rockie came back to live with me! I cried at first but now I'm so HAPPY to have her back! What a great lovable girl she is! Trials and all! 4/29/05 - My wonderful, sweet, Rockie was euthanized by the DeKalb County Animal Control on 3/28/05. Rockie and Pepper had been missing for 2 months after escaping when workmen didn't latch a gate securely. I suspected they had been later stolen because they disappeared from the area completely. Two months later I received a call saying Pepper was at DeKalb AC - they scanned her microchip. Rockie and Pepper had been there for a week. Both of them should have been scanned when they arrived but obviously they weren't. (I took Pepper to have her microchip checked later and it was right where it should be). After a week, they were scanned before euthanizing and Rockie was chosen first. Her ISO microchip sold by Banfield Pet Hospitals was not detected by DeKalb Animal Control which refuse to scan dogs with an ISO microchip scanner for whatever reason. Then Pepper was taken and scanned - and her Home Again chip was detected... too late for my baby Rockie!!! I'm so sorry Rocket - Peppy and I will miss you forever - you'll always be in my heart and remembered for your gentle kisses and happy spirit. I would do anything to have you home again. I'm so, so, sorry I couldn't find you!! I tried my very best.
