Arrival Story:
Cody was my husband's dog before I came along. He came from a breeder in Puyallup, WA. I have known Cody since he was 2. He quickly became a Momma's boy! When Cody was 4, we brought home his sister, Hailey. Daddy took Cody to get groomed and he had a cute little bandana on with Burt and Ernie. Cody was so cute! He wasn't sure what to think of his little sister and when he realized she wasn't leaving, he got mad. He gave his mommy the cold shoulder for about a month...quite the drama king! He would turn his head, sigh, and walk away when I called him... He was pouting! It took him several months, but he finally warmed up to his sister. He secretly thinks she is the best thing since Cheese now! Now there is a new girl on the block, Emma. At least she doesn't attach herself to his leg...She is a pretty good girl!

Cody is a really good boy! He is the best boy in the world. He grew up in Seattle, WA with his human parents and his sister Hailey. When Cody was 6, we all moved to Arizona. Cody doesn't like the hot summers here, he prefers a nice summer day at the Marymoor Dog Park in Seattle. He has to settle for several outings to the dog beach in San Diego. He loves to sit and listen to the waves, enjoy the ocean breeze and take a nap. He has a form of auto immune disease that mainly affects cats. He is allergic to his teeth. We have to have his teeth cleaned every six months. He is in very good heath besides that... Well, except for a tumor on his adrenal gland that is going to be removed on April 18th. It is a VERY costly surgury, risky too, but the surgeon thinks he can get it out w/o any problems. Cody has a very high energy level and sure does not act like an almost 12 yr old pug! He is so funny and crazy! He is Mr. Personality!

Update on Cody

It is with a very sad heavy heart that I report that Cody lost his battle with Mouth Cancer on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the age of 14.5. He was always a trooper and fought his disease with everything he had. In December 2008, he lost a back molar on the side of his mouth where the tumor was. His cancer doctor said the tumor had grown. Over the next month, the tumor kept growing, making it difficult for Cody to eat. He was losing weight, but always kept his spirits up. Then, a week before he died, he stopped eating completely. He was still drinking water, but not eating on his own. His Mom and Dad tried everything to get him to eat, even hand feeding him small pieces of hamburgers from McDonalds. It worked, but he wasn't eating enough. It was with a heavy heard that his Mom and Dad decided that it was just time... He wasn't enjoying life any longer and we didn't want him to suffer. His last day was spent with his family getting lots of love from his Mom, Dad and sisters sitting in the warm sunshine after having a bath. His Mom walked him around the house one last time, said goodbye to his sisters when it was time to leave. His Mom and Dad stayed with him until the end and they were the last people he saw and heard. We all miss him so much, especially his Mom and his sister Hailey. We will forever love him and are thankful for the memories. I am forever proud to be his Mommy!

Happy Birthday to ME!

I celebrated my 14th birthday yesterday. =) Mommy gave me lots of kisses and attention. I don't really play with toys, so mommy just made me feel like a KING like she always does. I did get some cupcake (no frosting!) for my special day, even my sisters got some. They sang happy birthday to me, took pictures of me in my birthday hat (Emma kept trying to eat it!) and took video of me and my sisters. I had a lot of fun!!!

Feeling Great!

My mom realized it has been awhile since she gave any updates about me! Well, I am doing great! My Mom has been giving me herbal medication to help keep my cancer under control. My herbal oncologist says I am doing great! The cancer has not spread, I have gained 5 lbs and I feel fantastic! My mom is SO HAPPY that I am doing well. She has me on several herbal medications, including an immunity booster, western and chineese herbs.

I also take vitamins like Vitamin C, E, CQ-10, selenium, etc.

I run, play and am a very happy boy! My mommy feeds me a high protein diet consisting of cottage cheese, chicken, broccoli and my favorite, shredded cheddar cheese on top. Yum Yum! She has to mix my medicine into the cottage cheese and also puts it in BBQ sauce that goes on my chicken.

My regular doctor can't believe how well I am doing!! He said he is amazed and that I look better than ever!
