A Wonderful Snowy Day!!!

Hi there everyone. It was a beautiful snowy day here in Newfoundland yesterday. I just love the snow. Not as much as I love water, but close. As for water, let me tell you how a wonderful walk with mom, dad and sis, Mollie, went on Saturday. Well for starters, it rained sooo much that we had no snow left at all. Then the sun came out and it warmed up a tad bit. So we all decided to go for a walk to break up the day. So, me, being a lab and all, was constantly looking for a source of water that I could jump into. Meanwhile, Mollie on the other hand, being only 23 wks, was not interested in water at all. Go figure. Anyway, after jumping into many side puddles and gullies, I found the mother of all streams. It was iced over, but god did it look inviting. So, guess what happened next!! I jumped onto the ice!! Then the ice broke and I fell into the water. I was really scared too. I couldn't move. I didn't know how to get up out of the water. All I had was my two front paws on the ice holding me up. Mom was very upset and almost crying. But, my dad was great. He came to my rescue !!!! He came down by me and hauled me up out of the ice with only one arm, man is he strong. (I am 85lbs, you know). Well, I was so excited that I ran around in circles like a fool and mom and dad laughted at me. Mom was mad at first, but then she was happy again. As for poor Mollie, she was following me, like she always does, and stopped in mid motion when the ice broke and I fell in. Mom had to go get her. She was so scared that she wouldn't move, it was like she was froze in that position. And the funny thing was the she wasn't even on the ice. Just on the side of the bank. God, she is a wimp!! I still tried to jump into more water sources on the way back, but for some reason mom and dad were getting mad at me when I tried to. Oh, well, come on summer, so that I can go swimming again. It is snowing again and boy do we have lots of it. I can handle rolling around in the snow til spring. Well, that's all for today. Have a nice day!!!

Meet Me, Abbie

Hello everyone,
My name is Abbie and I am a yellow (really white) labrador retriever. I am 16 months old now. Time flies when your a puppy. I now have a new baby sister, Mollie. Mom thought that I might be lonely when everyone was gone to work and school. So, she figured that she would get me a friend. That is where Mollie comes into the picture. She keeps me company and amuses me too. I forgot what it is like to be a puppy again. Although mom constantly tells me that I am still a puppy too. Just not as silly as Mollie. But silly none the less. I love to play soccor and chase the ball. Walks are good too. I sleep on the sofa all day long when everyone is gone, well, I also like to chew on shoes and boots, if there are any left out for me to find. That would explain why all the bedroom doors and closets are closed. Oh well.
Mollie and I play and sleep basically all day, til our human sister, April comes home and plays with us. She takes very good care of us. Well, that's all for now folks, be back later.
