Quick Bio:

Likes:
Being on mom or Grandma's lap, snuggling under the covers, constantlybeing held, and she's not picky about who is holding her either as long as she's the center of attention!!

Pet-Peeves:
Her #1 "pet peeve" is her sister Ava. Gracye's just a little jealous! Anytime Ava is getting more attention than her, she tries to get between the person and Ava! If that doesn't work, she whines until she gets some attention!

Favorite Toy:
Gracye is more of a treat dog than a toy dog! She doesn't really play with toys, even though she has a ton of them!

Favorite Food:
Peanut Butter, Authority Liver treats, Dried Chicken Breast Tenders, & whatever people are eating!!

Favorite Walk:
Mainly wherever mom is, otherwise the antique fair at the RBC Center, the dog park, & Trailhounds group hikes

Best Tricks:
She can make the most pitful whining sounds when she wants attention and/or a treat!! She has learned how to get exactly what she wants out of people...execpt her mom, who doesn't buy it fora minute!

Arrival Story:
During my 2nd tour in Iraq, my unit was ambushed and I was severly injured. When I finally got back home to the USA, I spent a number of months in the hospital having facial reconstruction surgeries. During my stay in the hospital, I got to see therapy dogs in action and knew I wanted to work with Therapy Dogs once I healed. When I was ready to get a dog, I knew that I wanted a dog that I could train to be a therapy dog and had been looking for a few months. I went to help with a puppy mill rescue & while picking up the dead dogs in this hell hole I found Gracye! I fell in love immedately and Gracye came home with me at 6 weeks old. Although I thought I was taking care of her and helping her get better (very underweight and sick), it was almost the opposite!! She has helped me recover more than anything....I think she is my guardian, not the other way around!!!

Bio:
Gracye is very much a working dog, she is my Seizure Alert Dog and she is also a Therapy Dog. As my Seizure Alert Dog, Gracye can give me a few min warning before I have a seizure so I can ake my meds or pull over if I am driving. Gracye has saved my life more than once! Gracye also LOVES being a Therapy dog, getting treats and attention for hours on end!! She is just a love sponge! She thinks that any person's goal in life is to hold her! (Just a tad spoiled!!) We spend a few days every week with children & soldiers that are in the hospital. She even has pink toenails most of the time...the kids LOVE to paint them!! She spends most of her therapy time with the younger children who are afraid of the bigger dogs and the ladies at the nursing homes LOVE to baby her and make her sweaters (26 & counting!!) We also visit soldiers that are recovering from injuries, just like her mom is! Working in law enforcement, Gracye has also helped me on a few occasions when I have had to give families devestating news or interview victims, especially children. She makes them feel more comfortable and relaxed, and Gracye has let quite a few people hold her while she is cried into. Gracye DEFINITELY earns her keep!!
