One Year Post TPLO!

We made it! Things have been wonderful for the past many many many months now, with all the running, playing, hiking, and yes -- jumping and falling, Indy is back to 99% of his old self. The only thing we notice is that he doesn't quite have the "ups" he used to...and frankly that's just fine, he got into too much trouble jumping anyway :) So the 1% might just be that he's getting ready to turn 4 years old (also hard to believe).

The only time I worry is when I watch him play on wood floors or run like a banshee...not about his TPLO leg but about the other leg (knocking on all the wood in the world...). Fingers, toes, paws and everything else crossed - so far so good.

Hard to believe it's been a whole year.

Here's to another great fun filled year of playing, swimming, hiking, running, trips to Kuni's and plenty of snuggling :)

Almost 6 months!

It seems like so long ago...sleeping on the floor, staples, limping, containment, oh my! Indy is fully recovered from surgery and loving life. He gets daily (ok, so it's *almost* daily) walks, romps in the park, running, playing, even a trip to the mountains which will be our new home.

Fingers, paws, toes and anything else we can find are all crossed that we won't need another surgery....

Indiana is as spoiled as ever!

110 Days and Counting...

Here's a post-op rehab report. We're doing our daily rehab walks and things are going so great. Looking back, I can't believe we weren't walking Indy daily. It's such a joy to share our morning and weekend walks and watch him get stronger and stronger day by day. We're back to better than 100% - Indy's in the best shape of his life.

We've created a monster! Indy loves his morning walk so much that he's no longer the bulldog who sleeps in until noon...he wakes us up somewhere between 8 and 9 everyday if we don't get him up first. All it takes is "wanna go for a w" and then his head emerges from under the covers where he burrows to sleep in his snuggly blanket cave with us in bed and he's ready to go. Every morning we're greeted by neighborhood fans who admire him and never fail to compliment his "smile".

We go in for our 16 week check up on week 17...and get the official "sign of the cross" to go back to being an official dog. Then we'll slowly introduce some offleash activity and keep our fingers, paws and claws (along with anything else we can find) that the 2nd knee holds up.

Till then - to our dog friends we've made along the way during rehab, best wishes for speedy healing and recovery!
