What makes the world go round?

Just a drab day. Mommy and daddy are so busy still cleaning and fixing the house from Hurricane Katrina. I can't help much cause I don't get along so well. The doctor started me on some new medication, called digoxin. It actually helps me feel better. I can even get around a little better. Mommy gives me my pills 2-3 times a day in some cheese or wet food. I remind her when it is time for my treat by going to the kitchen. I don't get to go outside and play with my sisters anymore though, I think mommy is afraid they will step on me or something like that. The backyard is still a mess anyhow. Our shed practically blew up with the hurricane, and we have debris all over the backyard. Mommy and daddy just got done cleaning out our pool, YUCK what a mess that was. Now they are tearing down all our ceilings and putting them back up. Next is the floors, then the back yard. I overheard them say another month or two of work and we will finally have our house back together (just in time for hurricane season!). I can't wait for that day. I know mommy can't either. These last few months have been rough on her with her daddy being sick and going to meet someone named Jesus, and the house being torn up. Now she worries about how her mommy is doing cause she is so far away. I know grammy will be ok, but losing her hubby (my grampy) after 42 years of marriage is really hard. Grammy is supposed to come and spend a couple of months here after the house is fixed. That will be fun, gammy spoils me. Well, time for a nap. Thanks for reading!

Happy Birthday Grampy

Just wanted to say happy brithday to my Grampy. He would have been 70 today. I miss him!

Missing Grampy

Today has been 7 weeks since my grampy died. He lived in Pennsylvania. Mommy and me moved up there for a couple of months to help and take care of him. I love going to see long-ways gramma and grampy. The trip is a long time, I have to get out of the car about 5 times to go potty. We end up staying at a strange place with lots of strange smells overnight before getting to gramma and grampys house.

Anyhow, grampy was good when we got there. Alot of people came to see him alot, and looked sad all the time. I heard people talking about cancer - melanoma. He found out he was sick in August. Mommy moved up there in October to be with him. She took pepper, my sister. I missed mommy while she was gone. Daddy went up to visit, and took me and Lizzie. Mommy kept me and sent Pepper back with daddy when he had to come back home. I am the oldest and was the closest to grampy. He didn't like animals a whole lot, but he used to brag about me.

We had out own thing. He would snort and growl at me, and I would bark at him. Then he would pet me. I loved my grampy.

He got really sick. He was not getting out of bed, and was confused sometimes. One day, he was sitting up at the side of the bed with mommy and gramma (they had to help him sit up), and he held his fist up to me, and snorted. Everyone laughed when I started barking. Even when he was weak, he still tried to play with me.

Then mommy stayed in his room most of the time, even slept in the chair in there a few times. Grampy moved to a new bed that moved around and made alot of noise, but it didn't wake him up. I stayed in his room to. One day there was alot of people there, ALOT! They all started crying, and hugging grampy, but he was not hugging them back. I tried to get up in bed with him, and couldn't, so I started barking at him to get him to play with me. He didn't snort back this time. Mommy picked me up and said, "Sorry, grampy can't play anymore." She was crying. I wish he could play. At least just one more time.

Mommy says he went to build me a doghouse, and that I will see him again. She says I am sick too, and one day will come when I can't play with mommy, but I will play with grampy again. Then one day after that, I will see mommy and daddy again too. Sounds good to me. I'll have everyone again!
