No wonder I'm pretty

I have good genes!

I was watching the WKC this week. My breeder told Mom she had one of my littermates entered and so I thought it’d be neat.
Well, turns out it was 2! My brothers:

12 Ch Tnt Silver Salute
8 Ch Lemerick's Rocket Man Of Tnt –who won the Award of Merit

It's not best of breed (if I'd been there, maybe?), but it's not too shabby!

Well, good news!!!
I was going in yesterday for my Acupuncture/kineseology treatment and we got the results from the pathologist about my 'thing'.
Turns out it was an odd, but completely benign type of cyst (not the typical lipoma). And all of my outfielding didn't show any signs or spread of the growth or of anything else so that's GREAT!!! I'm HEALTHY!!!
Also, good news, my treatments seem to be working. Jackie and I have been kind of naughty, as has Daddy. He left out a whole pan of enchiladas and spanish rice (think dairy, corn, rice, tomatos....all kinds of things I cannot eat). We ate it. Jackie actually got sicker than me! I had some paint-peeling farts, but everything else was normal. Jackie had just simply eaten too much. Silly dog doesn't ever bring things back up when she overdoes it. Mom always has to give her hairball remedy so it'll hurry thru.
This naughty was good news for everyone! My doctor just went over what I was eating and my supplement plan and gave me an extra few pins to help my surgery heal faster and not hurt or itch. Since I'm her guinea pig for this new regimen she always likes to hear the progress so she can see how well it works to treat something like what I have with no drugs or herbs whatsoever and sometimes throws in a few little things like that to help me along.
It's also a good birthday present for me. Today I'm 5, and I'm a healthy dog!!!

Scary Things

There is possiblymore bad news for me.
When I went for my regular vet visit for my tummy, Mom brought up my bump. You see, since I came to my Mom I had this teeny, tiny bump by my hip. So small you couldn't see it, only feel it thru my fur. It was soooo small, but Mom worries so she'd brought it up to my old vet. She looked at it. Felt it. And then said it was a lipoma (fatty cyst) and not to worry about it all. Just check it once in a while. Because they can get uncomfortable, and so forth.
So Mom kept a good eye on it.
Then when I got my last haircut, Mom noticed you could see a tiny bump. My bump had grown a little. It was still very small, but it wasn't as small.
So Mom thought she'd ask my new vet to get rid of it.
After all, better to have only 1 or 2 stitches, right?
Well, she looked at it. Felt it. And said she thought it was just a normal lipoma, and she'd be happy to get rid of it.
But first she wanted to check something.
So she poked me with a big needle and wiped it on a slide.
"Looks right" she said. "Nice and fatty. But lemme look on the scope".
When she came back she didn't look so happy.
Told Mom there was somethign strange going on. "Big cells" and "Mitotic activity" were brought up. And "Cancer".
But to be sure they were going to send it to a pathology lab when they take it out.
And now we wait for my surgery day. And the results.

Health news

In health news, things have been going well and yet they havent.
Mom got fed up with our doctor and my breeder's insistance that what I have is giardia-like. The 'cure' has never cured me and so she went looking for a new kind of vet. Despite it having been 4 months since I had a reaction (Normal for me since I started eating fish) we had an interview for alternative medicine-Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
The doctor thought I was a prime candidate for an herbal treatment to promote health and some augmentation with accupuncture. So we went home with some herbs and Mom was happy and hopeful.
Well, it didn't work so well.
As she slowly increased my dosage to it's full measure, I reacted just shy of 1/4 strength.
Hives.
HGE.
And a seizure with loss of consciousness for a good long while.
So no more of those herbs for me, but I am enjoying the homecooked food I always get when I don't feel well. We still haven't gotten back the test results from the initial appointment, but if its all negative as Mom suspects, we're going to go to another specialist at the animal hospital 2 hrs away (right next to the people hospital the Boy-Puppy was born at!). We're still going to keep this vet for regular things, but am not sure how helpful it's going to be for me and my special problem.

Busy, busy

Hello, It's been so long since I've updated. I've been busy expanding my duties as supreme Protector.
You see, Mom had a human puppy a few months back. As anyone who's experianced these knows, they take a great deal of time and grow much slower than our own puppies. Additionally, the humans don't seem to be that clued in on how to be parents.
Rather than get a nice box and sleep in it with her pup, Mom got a nice box and stuck the pup in it by himself.
No wonder the kid cries.
So I had to expand my duties to show the humans how to take care of one of their pups. They don't listen though.
They still put him in a box by himself. So he cries.
They let him soil himself, rather than taking him to a place to soil. So he cries.
She does not have the milk easily accessable so he has to wait while she fusses to prepare. So he cries.
They also are way too rough with him...tossing him in the air, bouncing him on their knees, putting him in precarious-looking contraptions strapped to their chest... I don't like it and so follow them around all the time. Someone needs to look out for that boy! I have stopped trying to tell them what to do because I was reminded that I was not the boss--they are. I am okay with that, I guess.
And last weekend, they even left him at home!!! Those Grandma and Grandpa people came over. I wasn't too sure about the whole thing.
So I followed and tried to herd them so they kept him in his room. I don't want anyone stealing my boy-puppy. I may not agree with all parenting methods of Mom and Dad, but the boy-puppy belongs to them. The Grandma-woman was very testy with me and would not obey. She complained to Mom how bossy and stubborn I was. She also complained when the Boy-puppy would cry and I tried to comfort him with gifts of the Sacred Ducky. She loudly protested about "the dirty, nasty rag thing" (how dare she say that of the Sacred Ducky!) and threw it out of the Puppy Box. The Grandma-woman also didn't understand the way things work around here and refused to let Jackie and I occasionally check on the Boy-puppy's well being. All we ask is that we be allowed to occasionally walk by the puppy box and give a sniff. Instead she closed the gates so we couldn't go check. Mom only does that when he's playing on the floor so we won't pester him to death and he won't get a deathgrip on my beard.

"Thick"

I met Dad's Dad and his wife this weekend. They stopped by with chocolatey treats for the peoples and wanted to meet me.
I was a bit insulted.
He said I was like a big French Poodle but way thick. Thick? THICK?!?!?
I'll have him know I'm SKINNY! Mommy's trying to get a little more weight on me since she can kinda see my ribs. She's been running us a bit more than normal since she's been home more and my diet hadn't been increased.
And I'm no big French Poodle. Now, I often wish I was a teeny tiny toy poodle, but I know I am a Terrier and a big one too. Unfortunately, there is no doggie purse for me to be carted around in and Mom can't take me everywhere with her.
But darn it....I'm NOT THICK. I'm quite trim, thank you.

My birthday finished beautifully yesterday. When Mom came home she had a new fleece coat (I love clothes!) and a new Orka Jack for me.
I'm going to have to be careful to keep the Jack from Jack though. Once she gets anything its shredded into a thousand pieces.

It also seems we won our HOA battle to be allowed outside. There were apparently things we were accused of that just were at complete odds with what we had so easily proven. I still have to not bark, but that isn't so bad most of the time.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today I am 4!!!
The day started out sooooo good. I love my family!
This morning a bad dog was barking and barking while we were trying to sleep. It upset me a lot because I so wanted to go outside and bark back. But now I know barking is bad so I just paced around the room. Mom and Dad called me over and let me snuggle with them. In the bed!!!! It was such an honor for just behaving well.
Then when it was time to get up for the day we went through our regular routine and when breakfast came, there were scrambled eggs in it!!!
Oh, how I love scrambled eggs...you just have no idea. I spent a long time eating and had my eyes closed and was making lots of little noises because of the wonderfulness of scrambled eggs. Perhaps I should write scrambled eggs an epic poem.
Oh, scrambled eggs..
How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways...
Then the people had to go to work and we got our usual "mommy is leaving cookie" and I cannot wait till they get home. I know there will be more fabulousness and I'm anxious to see it.
