Arrival Story:
In January of 2006 someone stole my Dachshund named Milo. He was born at our house and I loved him soo.. much. When he was stolen I was depressed and angry. I couldn't believe someone could do that to me! How could you steal someone's friend and pet and tear them away from their beloved family. It didn't make since to me then and it doesn't today. After a month of searching for him, I decided to give up. My heart was hurting too bad from losing him and I just didn't have the strength to search anymore. So, I started looking for other dogs and my dream dog has always been an eskie. I searched high and low and couldn't find the perfect one for me. Finally, I found a website that gave me the name of a breeder an hour and a half from me. I drove up there when the puppies were born and I fell in love with a cute small girl eskie. Holding her made all my sadness disappear. I was no longer sad, I was happy for once holding her. She filled my heart with joy and happiness and I hadn't felt that in a while. I decided I wanted her and she wanted me, so I waited until she was ready to come home and I picked her up and have been happy ever since. She has made me so happy and I am very protective of her, especially when she's outside. She is a year old now and is all grown up and I give her as much love and attention as possible. I still miss Milo and will never forget him, but I can't look at pictures without crying and so that's why I don't have a page for him. If only I knew where he was there would be some closure. I have always wonder who choose who. I think Delta choose me because she knew I would do whatever it took to make her happy and keep her happy. I think Delta knew that she may have some problems such as stomach sensitivities, puppy pyoderma, food allergies, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and chronic ear infections as a puppy and she needed someone who understands her needs and is willing to deal with her problems and be patient with her as a young puppy and to help find things that will help her her get better.

I am a spoiled little baby that is playing most of the time. I was trying to help mommy type on the computer, but I can't read the letters and my paw is too big to hit each key right so mommy is typing for me. I am learning so much and I can do a few tricks. I love going out with mommy and everytime the car door opens I jump right in. I love getting all the attention and I know what to do to get it.

About Mom:
My mom is a college student majoring in Biology Pre-med. She goes to the University of New Orleans. Yes, she did lose everything or at least 70% of her stuff during Katrina, but she survived and she wasn't stuck in New Orleans. She wants to go to medical school and become a Cardiac surgeon, Cardiologist or Psychiatrist. My mom is also a big animal lover. She is also a person that really knows her stuff about dog food. The reason she knows a lot about dog food is because she had to do a lot of research to make sure I got a food that was nutritious and healthy as well as agreeable. I can't eat a lot of foods or even a lot of treats. My mom loves talking about a dogs nutrition and brands of dog food. She's always looking at dog food and reading up on the ingredients and what not. She's thinking about making a yearly review of her own on dog food. Talk to my mom anytime about dog food if you wants. :)

Happy Birthday Delta

Today is Delta's first birthday, well I posted a little late it was yesterday on the 27th!! I wasn't at home to celebrate with her and I'll put up pictures of her as soon as I take them but Delta had a birthday week last week when I was home.

Last week I took her to PetSmart to get groomed and her teeth brushed and I swear she just looked like a brand new dog after that grooming! It was only $32 for grooming. They did such a wonderful job on her coat I was floored. They got rid of those mats behind her ears and got a lot of dead fur off of her from looking at her. I could have never done a good job like they did. She needed to be groomed by someone professional because my family doesn't really groom her too well. I saw all my old employees at PetSmart and everyone was so shocked at how big and furry she has gotten. They remember her as just a small fluff ball that you can carry in your purse. I also weighed her while I was there and she weighed 20.5 lbs before the grooming. I think it's a good weight for a mini, the groomers said she wasn't fat and that she looked healthy and not fat, although when she lays a certain way she looks big, but it's all of her fur spreading out and I also thought her head was too small for her body, but after the grooming she looks normal to me now. I guess a good grooming really does make you look good.
After her grooming we went home and she found a huge box full of treats waiting for her. I bought her:

Barktoria Secret Thong Dog Toy
Barktoria Secret Push Up Bra Plush Dog Toy
Small Furagamo Designer Shoe Toy
3 pk. Lick Your Chops Treat-Umms Fish & Sweet Potato Wraps
3 pk. Lick Your Chops Treat-Umms Fish & Crab Wraps
30 Merrick Texas Taffy
30 Beef Muscle Chews
2 lb. Sam's Yams Veggie Rawhide Dog Treats
6 month supply K9 Advantix
6 month Supply Heartgard Plus
25.6lb. Nature's Variety Dog Food
3 lb. Nature's Variety Raw Rabbit food
3 lb. Nature's Variety Raw Beef food
13.2 oz. canned Nature's Variety Duck
13.2 oz. canned Nature's Variety Venison
13.2 oz. canned Nature's Variety Lamb

Delta loved all the treats the Merrick Texas Taffy treats are her favorite, she never gets tired of those. I guess I'll be buying 30 of them every two months, since she can't get enough. The Beef Muscle Chews are not a big hit because they are really hard for them and it's hard to break them up for them, if I find out that they are still not a hit with them maybe I could some to you guys. They will chew on them sometimes but not really. The Lick Your Chops treats were really yummy to her as well as the Sam's Veggie Rawhide. They are just yams but she loved them. In all I went over my budget for her by a wee bit but that's okay. She loves her toys too. Big Grin Delta seems to like to take people's bras, panties and shoes so I bought her own. She tore the lace off the panties the minute she got them. She chews on the bra because it has a squeaker in each cup and she tore off the shoe lace off the shoe. It's cute and funny and now that she has them I think she has cut back on stealing but if my mom would stop leaving her stuff on the floor Delta wouldn't trot around the house with them. I didn't buy her a new harness because I couldn't decide on what I liked. All in all, Delta is spoiled to the core and she truly shows it. If he wants something she gets it, my stepdad says, "How can you deny such a cute face." It's true, she's my baby and I love her. Happy First Birthday Delta, mommy loves you!!

I am so very excited to say that next week my puppy will be one. I love her greatly and I am so happy she is with me. She's grown so much and is such a happy doggie! I have bought her several toys and all her favorite treats in bulk for her birthday. She will be in doggie heaven for a while. :-) I am so just so proud of her and everything that she has done. She has brightened up our house and have made things more active for everyone. She's really funny to watch and very cunning as well. Happy Birthday Delta!

Well I went home to see Delta this past weekend and I must say she has a lot of fur. That salmon oil really does wonders to her coat as well as her dog food. She was so happy to see me that she wouldn't stop jumping up and down, up and down, up and down. She wasn't jumping up and down on me, just jumping. She gave me lots of eskimo kisses and then started following me around the house as usual. I keep forgetting to take my camera with me and she has so many cute eskie moments. She has truly turned into the perfect dog for me and my family. I let her cuddle with me in bed, but all she wanted was tummy rubs and back rubs. She loves to be brushed and I think she falls asleep when she's brushed or combed. Now if only I can get her to stay in a tub of clean water then grooming would be perfect!!
