Likes: carrots, peanut butter, Kong toys, "the Old Guy" (my dad)

Pet-Peeves: the mailman, anything that interferes with her napping, baths, nail clipping

Favorite Toy: Kong

Favorite Food: anything she can get!

Favorite Walk: anywhere!!!

Arrival Story: I was browsing the Petfinder classified ads and there was an ad for puppies. Apparently, a female dog was pregnant and dumped at the animal shelter. A wonderful woman rescued the dog, named her Daisy, and allowed her to have the pups. Daisy had 9 pups and they were all adorable. We drove about 2 hours to see the pups and my hubby fell in love with #7 of 9. This was to be his first pup, so that was the one we picked.

Bio: Callie has gone through basic obedience as well as passed the Canine Good Citizen test. She is quite the helper - picking up items from the floor, delivering items, etc.
She also loves rides!!!
As of 2008, Callie now belongs to Therapy Dogs International.

It looks like my diary is a bit behind in entries... The last one was written when Farlee came to stay. Well, my crazy humans brought home another foster shortly after getting Farlee. This second dog was a lab mix pup who wasn't even a year old. All she ever wanted to do was chew stuff (especially my stuff) and run like an idiot. After almost 2 months, Guinness found a permanent home. (I just hope their cat likes her so she can stay there!) Don't get me wrong, she was ok, but she was just too much energy most of the time. Farlee is still here. I guess people really do have a problem with age. (They can't handle their own aging and they can't see the value of a mature dog. I'm glad that I'm the resident dog instead of a foster now that I'm getting close to 4.)
My humans will both be home with me for the summer. They've never done that before. It's usually just one of them home with me while the other one works or goes to school. I think I'm going to like this. I've heard them talking about taking road trips. ( I like the car!) Maybe I will get more chances to write entries. (When the humans are busy, they are usually hogging the computer so I can't write...)

Well, Shiloh eventually found a home with people who adore her (according to the stories I've heard my humans telling). I am happy for her (and for me because she scared me). She was adopted and two days later, we got a new foster dog - Farlee. Farlee's ok. She doesn't snap at me for no reason and she's learned to kennel quite nicely (on MY pillow). I suppose I should be glad they don't let her sleep on the bed. (That would be grounds for war!) She's been here for over a month and it looks like she'll be here a while - something about having to finish treatment for a disease called Heartworm. (From what I heard, it's a pretty scary disease. I'm glad my humans give me that monthly preventative. They say that they would never do anything to let me get a disease like that. It's always nice to know I'm loved!)

Well, Einstein went to an adoption event last Saturday and didn't come back. I hope he's loving his new home as much as I love mine. I also hope that Shiloh gets a new home soon. She's supposed to be in today's newspaper as pet of the week, so more people will get to see her. She really needs a home of her own.
