New friend Payton!

My dad decided he wanted a boy dog for himself. He thinks I only want to listen to mommy. I know who is the alpha dog in this house. At first he wanted a puggle. Mom said that it was not a very manly dog. She looked online at dogs with him. I met all different puggles. Dad did not decide on one. Mom looked up Staffordshires and pestered dad into looking at some. He was not sure about getting another pit. He called up a lady who had saved a mom and her babies 3 girls and a boy. They were not babies anymore since they were in foster since 8 months old and now were 2. Payton was staying with a retired cop in the K9 unit. Which sounded good to both my parents. He did not bark at them. He came out to sniff me. I decided not to spike my fur at him. He didn't scare me. He was friendly and hugged and gave kisses to mom and dad. For some reason dad wanted him right away. This shocked mom that he decided so fast. He said when he wants something he knows. So far he is a good boy. He is friendly to the cats. He licked Xena on the face. I don't think he must have met any before. Mom went to the vet for a checkup and they both thought he was deaf. This had dad worried all day. He came home and wouldn't you know it came to him and he said sit and he did it. Ehh who would want to listen to dad?! Well he grew up with a dad and his three sons I guess. Mom is much cooler!!! Payton does know how to heal. I saw him go into the garbage. I thought he would be in for it, but he doesn't know any better yet. He does not want to play and does not get excited much. I am so happy all the time. I don't know what his problem is. He acts 10 and I act 2!

Ice Cream

Today me and Singer went walkining with mom and grandma. I kept up pretty well for an old fart! Grandma suggested we go to get ice cream. I got to go in the big SUV. Singer has had ice cream many times. Mommy bought me a small bowl of vanilla just for me. At first she let me lick small spoonfuls, then eventually she gave me the whole cup. I had ice cream all over my snout. Mom thought I was a little greedy because I wanted hers too. She said enough was enough. I could not eat hers anyways because she got Reese Peanut Butter Cup flavor, and dogs can't have chocolate.

My Friends

Last night I got to go walking with my friend Tido. He is a Chihahua/Corgi Mix. We went up to Burton square to walk around. We were sitting in front of the cofee shop. Everyone stopped to pet or look at us. Soon it started to rain and we had to run back to the car. After we took Tido home another friend of mine came over, Singer. He is a big black lab mix. I was so excited. The next day daddy gave us bones and we sat around and munched them together. He had to go home later. I wish mommy and daddy would buy me a dog friend. I get lonely and the cats are no fun. Nina always smacks me on top of the head with her paw and Fat Cat always hisses. What did I ever do to them?

Today I was very excited because my mommy asked me if I wanted to go bye bye. I perked up my head and started to tap dance. Mom put me in the backseat and tied my harness to the seatbelt. First mom and dad had to go to college so I took a nap. After that we went to Squire's Castle Park. I liked to go inside the castle, but I did not know that I was not supposed to go pee inside. Oops! We went for a very long walk. I helped pull mom up the hills because she is very out of shape. Dad thought it was funny. I did not mind, I love mommy!
After our walk we were very thirsty and hungry. Daddy took us to McDonald's. I had a hamburger and some water. Dad was upset because he told them to put nothing on it, they did not listen. Oh well, I ate the whole thing in two bites anyways. Dad even gave me some fries!
It was such a nice day outside. I hope it is done snowing so mom and dad will take me to the park more often.
