Sammy, Buddy, Bubba, Sam the Man, Sam Wam, Sammie Wammie, Sammers, Mister, Mr. Sam, Samuel (only when he did something bad)

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Sun Sign:
Quick Bio:

December 13th 2005

Being where ever mommy and daddy are, cuddling in bed with mommy and daddy, licking wet toes, running free in the dog park, and tearing up paper, and licking mommy's chapstick (don't ask cause we don't know why)!

Not getting attention when he wants it, so he chews anything he can get his little teeth on!!

Favorite Toy:
A big, fuzzy hedge hog and any toy that pal Summer is squeaking at the moment!

Favorite Food:
CHEESE, bananas, yogurt, carrots (to name a few)

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere, anytime!

Best Tricks:
Giving kisses when asked, jumping and catching a toy in the air or doing a 360 degree spin in mid air, and sit and stay (when cheese is involved)

Arrival Story:
One Sunday we decided to take a ride to a pet shop...just to look, of coarse! Well, in the cage was one rather tame 12 week old pup. I had to see him and of coarse my boyfriend agreed even though he knew what was going to happen when I held that puppy! And, yes, it was love at first site! This little guy was so docile and just loved to be held. I could not bear the thought of putting him back in that cage for someone else to take him home, so we gave in and took the handsome boy home!

Sam is one happy-go-lucky pup! He is extremely smart and catches on very fast. Sam is still a young little guy and has lots of energy to burn! Running laps in the hallway, squeaking every squeak toy he has and play tug with his pal Summer are a few of his favorite things to do,but most of all he loves snuggling with mom and dad!

So, one year ago today I melted mommy and daddy's heart with my pathetic dark brown eyes -- and they adopted me!!! What a happy day it was! I was so excited to get out of that cramped cage with all those other puppies. I just wanted a nice, safe home with a yard to run around in and some windows to look out of. And, my wish came true...and I got some great parents too! I am so happy to be living here. What a great day!

Merry Christmas!!!

Today is a very sad day. My great big greyhound pal died today. Just like that...he suddenly died. Indie was a retired greyhound, 10 years old, sable colored big boy. He had thyroid problems, gum and teeth problems, no fur....the whole nine yards. But, that never stopped him! He would always take a treat eventhough he had 4 teeth, he would roll over for his belly rubs, run free in the back yard, and throw his ball high up in the air and catch it all by himself. His health got the best of him this weekend when he began uncontrollably urinating in the house. Indie was taken to the vet to get some meds for the infection. I hear that he was OK until then today, he began uncontrollably urinating again and then he could not even stand up. He was rushed to the vet when the vet said that there is nothing they can do -- his organs were shutting down. So, he was put to sleep. My whole family was shocked, upset, angry....the whole bit. I am just stricken with sadness. Indie was the first dog that my my dog Summer ever liked. Indie was the first dog to give Sam a kiss when I first brought him home. Indie just had this charisma about him that you could not help but fall in love with. He made you think that despite all the bad things that happened to him he was still on this earth -- strong, alive and happy. Nothing seemed to get that boy down. He was so young and had so much more love and kisses to give. I just wish I could have seem him one last time this Christmas Eve and give him his stuffed frog squeakie. I wish that Sam, Bella and Summer could have played with him more. I just wish he did not have to go so soon. We will miss you, Indie. Run free in Rainbow Bridge for all of us.
