Arrival Story:
My Mom took my friend & I to the pound when I was 4. Mom said he was being stepped on by the other dogs & she felt sorry for him. He sat in the back of our green pontiac between my friend & I on a magazine for the ride home.

Bio:
Dusty passed away at the age of 14 in 1985. My Mom said- "Dusty loved the food I brought home from the cafeteria for him, and when I realized how porky he was getting from it........I had to taper it off. He looked like a stuffed sausage. He was a boxer mix.........and the vet thought part whippet too. He liked to run in the backyard along the fence and chase Thunder......the dog behind us at one time. When young...he would chew on all your shoes, and ruin them. He was deathly afraid of thunderstorms and always hid under the toilet and shook during them. He loved all and any people food. Got in my cherry pies too, and anything I baked IF left within reach of him. He had a sweet tooth......at Christmas when I stored gifts in the garage........he would eat thru the bags or wrapping and eat little boxes of candy or cookies that I had in there too". ****************** When we would drive to Fla. to visit my grandpa, he would always know when we were getting close to the exit.He would get really excited. At home if he got out he would take off & find a creek & my dad would find him there rolling in the dead fish.He had the time of his life doing that. Up north at grandpas house, Dad would throw a stick as far into the woods as he could & Dusty would always come back with "that" stick. Whenever you told him to smile, he would smile big! ( the pictures show that) He was the 1st dog I had.
