Arrival Story:
Given as an 8 weeks pup by very Good Friends on Thanksgiving Day (Canada). My Friends already having 5 dogs of their own including 2 Jack Russels, decided that I should have one, and I was presented with this adorable ball of white fluff, who has indeed become my best buddie.

After 1 Year, While having him neutered, the vet was asked to check his ears out, as he seemed to be a very stubborn dog who would not obey commands. This is when I discovered he was born deaf, with no hearing at all. He has adapted to hand commands easily........Which still blows me away, as how does he know what they are? Eye contact is incredible (even for photo ops!) The only down side is never being able to let him run free in the Park , he is always on a leash, as he would not hear commands. Adaption to a 50' rope attached to his expandable leash for playing in the Park with a ball has worked out really well..... He also has a 'cat bell' attached to his collar, so we know where is is at all times.

Today I heard some sad news.
My Owners friends, the ones that gave me as a present 9 years ago on Thanksgiving (Canada) have lost their oldest female Jack (named ELSA)
to a sudden heart attack. Elsa was the "matriarch" of all their dogs, and was a very kind , loving, and affectionate girl.
I will always remember you "THE PRINCESS" R.I.P
From your sad friend HOWIE. Woof!

My Dental Visit

June of 2007 I started to get pain in my mouth and we went to the Vets to see what was up. I had an abscess in my lower teeth, probably caused by blades of grass or something cutting into my lower gum. Anyway the Vet put me on a two week course of antibiotics, which helped take away the pain.
I was asked to come back at the end of July to have a check up. What the vet found was my four bottom teeth had become loose, and the gum receding.
I went in on Wednesday 1st August to have them removed, and after being
put to sleep so the Dr. could look at the teeth, they found the back top four and bottom two teeth, also were decaying. So the bottom line was I had a total of TEN teeth extracted, and the gums stitched up. I went in at 8:45 am and was released at 7:15 pm that evening. I felt very sore and cried a lot. The Night was very painful, also the anesthetic was wearing off.
Anyway, today, Thursday 2nd I am eating (very soft food) and some plain yogurt with my antibiotics..and things are slowly on the mend. Thanks to my Pals Niko & Sage who sent me some stars..Thank you for Remembering me....Woof! Hopefully I will have a check up next Tuesday the 7th.
