Arrival Story:
I had been a year and a half without a dog and finally talked my dad into letting me get a new one. I saw an ad in the paper for Husky/Shepherd pups and went out to take a look. I was told to get a blue eyed pup and I wanted a male. He was the only blue eyed one left but, he was not as cute as his brothers and sisters. He had a white nose with black spots. I picked up one of his sisters and was looking at her when he began untying my shoes. I knew then I had no choice because he picked me! That little bossy pup became my best friend ever, the most beautiful dog ever and gave me the greatest love for huskies. We had our battles over the years but, there is No other breed for me because the best qualities of huskies lived in him.

Bio:
Nikita was put to sleep in April of 2002. He had seen me through my cancer and then became ill with splenic cancer. We tried surgery but, when our vet opened him up he was riddled with it. So we thought the best thing for him, was not to wake up. We still miss him terribly. He was an ornery boy who was so full of life. It has been two years now and it is still so hard to believe that we lost him so early. I always thought I'd have him there with me... I never imagined I'd lose him so soon and so suddenly. He helped me through my troubles with cancer and I couldn't help him through his. That is something that today troubles me. Yet it also makes me revel in the love that a dog and a human can share even if we aren't successful in saving one another.
