My Puppies!

I have puppies! They are 5 weeks old now. I have 8 cute puppies. Everyone loves them. Sometimes Mom lets too many people visit them. I don't like that. They are my puppies not everyone else's. When they were smaller, I didn't want anyone touching them. I didn't bark or growl at anyone. I just blocked them from touching them with my head. Now that they are bigger and getting around pretty good, I don't mind people picking them up. I still watch them though. Mom says that I take very good care of them and that I am a very good Mommy.

Facts about me:
1. I want ALL the attention. When Mom pets or scratches Bailey, I grab her sleeve and try to get her to give me more attention.
2. I like to dig under the dog house. My sister and I have dug under the dog house from one side to the other. Now our house is lopsided because the back corner has fallen into our basement.
3. I smile a lot. People who don't know me might think I am going to growl at them, but I don't growl at anyone. I am a happy girl.
4. I don't bite. If someone gives me a treat, I won't take it from them. I wait for them to let go of it.
5. I don't like cats. I don't like it when they are in my yard or the neighbors yards either. I don't like other animals (big or small) in my yard.
6. I chew on almost everything. Mom bought a new water bucket and in less than 15 minutes I had a few holes in it. I even put some holes in the bottom of the bucket.
7. I don't like to get wet. I was being a bad girl once and Dad sprayed me with the water hose. I didn't like it all. Whenever someone is holding the hose, I hide on the other side of the dog house.

New Treats

Mom and Becca gave us a new treat today. I've never had one like it. It was very yummy. It was so good that I ate my so fast and then took Bailey's from her. I think Mom called it a pig snout. Of coarse, I got into trouble from Mom and Dad. Mom took it away from me twice. She had to prise my mouth open 'cause I didn't want to give it back. Dad even sprayed me with the water hose. I hate that.

1. It is all about me! I must be the center of attention at all times.
2. I don't like cats or rabbits or any little critters in my yard or the neighbors yards either. I bark at them until they go away.
3. I can sit, roll over, and speak. I can speak in 2 tones. If you say speak loud - I bark loud and if you say speak softly - I bark softly.
4. I am an escape artist. I am always trying to get out of the kennel. I have escaped several times.
5. I do not like rain, thunder, or loud noises. When I hear loud noises, I hide under the dog house.
6. I love to go for rides in the truck. The longer the ride the better.
7. I only hurt people with my tail. I wag it so fast that if it hits your leg it will probably hurt.

Turtles

Bailey and I saw something in the yard yesterday. Actually I noticed it first. Bailey isn't as observent as I am. We started barking at it and trying to get out of the kennel. We must have been making a lot of noise because Mom and Dad looked out the window to see what was going on. They know something is bothering us if we make a lot of noise. They came out and gave us fresh water and some dog bones. Dad discovered the turtle that was about 30 feet from our kennel. Mom went over and picked it up. It wasnn't very big. She brought it over to the kennel and held it up to the fence so Bailey and I could sniff at it. We checked it out real good. Don't turtles have a head and legs? We didn't see any. Weird! I decided I didn't like it. After I sniffed it real good, I backed away from it. Mom tried to get me to come up to the fence again. I wasn't having any of that little thing again. I'm not going near that thing again.

My Basement

It has been a little too hot lately. Bailey and I have been spending some time in our basement.It is nice and cool down there. We dug it ourselves - under our doghouse. Our doghouse is kind of big. Mom says we could have 6 dogs in it. I hope not because we like having it to ourselves. Mom calls it "Bailey & Dottie's Condo"
Dad is building a storage shed and making a lot of noise. When he started this project, he made some loud noise that scared us so much we hid in our basement. I hope he doesn't build anything else for quite a while.

It's all about ME!

October 14, 2006 - I love getting attention from my family. Sometimes I don't want to share that attention with Bailey. Don't they know - It's all about me! Mom was scratching Bailey and my ears and I wanted all the attention. I tried nibbling on Mom's sleeve to pull her away from Bailey. Mom wasn't buying any of it. She said "There's two of us. I have to pet both of you."

Hot! Hot! Hot!

May 29,2006 - I don't like this weather. It is too hot for me. Mom and Dad have been letting Bailey and me out of the kennel more. I love it when we get out of the kennel because I get to run all over the yard and the neighbors too. Mom and Dad get mad at me when I leave the yard. Today we went for a ride in the truck. That is a lot of fun too. I love going for rides. All those new smells. WOW! Mom, Dad, and Becca took Bailey and me to town and we got to go in a river. That was nice. I just got my legs wet and had a cold drink. That water was cold. I love it when we get to go somewhere too. It stinks to get left at home alone.

What's Happening?

April 17, 2006 - What is happening around here? Mom and Dad are digging around the kennel. They don't like us digging holes, but they do it whenever they want to. I don't understand. But, we had fun today anyway. Mom and Dad were outside all afternoon with us. Mom and Becca gave us pig ears. It was very good. Bailey gobled hers up right away. I savored mine. Bailey tried to take mine. So I went into our big house and ate it in there. Mom let me out of the kennel and I got to run around. I went to Megan's house and then Dad yelled at me to come back home. I ran around our yard for a while. I love to run.

Dottie's Adventures

April 14, 2006 - I am having so much fun. I have been digging under the kennel for the last 3 days. I wonder around for a while checking things out and then I go to the neighbors house and visit the dogs over there. Ginger looks like my sister, Bailey. I can't remember the little puppies name. Then by morning, Mark, the neighbor boy, or Megan put me on a chain next to the kennel. I don't like that. I like to be with Bailey. Bailey helped me dig out of the kennel tonight. Boy, did we have fun!! We went in the woods and field behind our yard and smelled all kinds of stuff.
