Sam came to live with me so he could have some other puppies to play with. He still gets to see his first family whenever he wants. He has tried to tell us that he previously lived in England by using a fake British accent. He seems to know quite a bit about England, but when pressed for specific details, he tends to change the subject quickly. Sam's greatest accomplishment is a recent medal awarded to the most vocal dog at a recent dog party.

Bio:
Sam has already started agility training and some tracking. He wants to do flyball, but he is just impatiently waiting his turn until it is his time to start.

My second agility trial

Oh Diary,

I must set my thoughts to paper, shall we say. My mother ran with me in my second agility trial.

She was just as daft as my auntie was the previous weekend! I was only entered in one event, Tunnelers. It consisted of a course of 8 tunnels. Fairly straightf foward, one would think.

However, as many times as my mother tried to commit the course to memory, she sadly got lost on the course. I was simply so excited to get started that I raced from the beginning and through the appointed course, through tunnel number four. Then, my simple mother lost her concentration. I simply could not wait for her to come to her senses, the daft woman, so I started on what I believed was the real, and actual course.

Oh, how I dashed and darted through the tunnels. I am sure I was quite the magnificient site to see. I barked merrily as I ran at top speed through the coures. My mother was spinning in one spot trying to catch a glimpse of me athletic prowess.

Finally, when she managed to come to her senses, I had already crossed the finish line several times. I was BRILLIANT! She politely picked up my person and we walked off the course. I barked a fond farewell to my fans, thanking them for their support.

And, this weekend, I will run another course. I simply cannot wait!

Adieu, dear Diary.

My first Agility Trial

Oh Diary,

I simply must relay how splendidly I did at my first Agility Trial. I know that everyone there was quite astounded by my athletic form and the amazing feats that I entertained them with during my run.

I anxiously awaited my turn during a recent CPE tournament. In my excitement to show everyone there how athletically gifted I am, I could barely contain my enthusiasm at the start line.

I lept in a long, graceful bound over the first jump, but then my eye caught site of a human sitting in the chair next to the fence. Of course, I immediately went to her side to make her acquaintance. I asked her several times if I may be of help, but the poor thing must have been simply daft, as she refused to look at me, speak acknowledge my presence at all.

I then heard my aunties high-pitch squeeking insisting that I come to her side and complete more of the course. Since I had made a promise to run with her that day, I briefly ran over to her but scampered off again to tour the entire course. And, to my amazement there was ANOTHER lost human sitting in the ring. I again approached this woman, just sitting in a chair. Again, I was completely ignored, and that is something that I do not care for whatsoever. I attempted to gain her attention by waving and spinning, but to no avail. The woman must have just simply been daft, as well. As my attention was briefly taken by this daft woman, I did not hear my auntie sneak up from the rear and she immediately picked up my person and said that I needed to start the course again, but this time I had to be on a leash.

I cannot tell you HOW much that displeased me, as I was forced to follow my auntie through the course. I wanted to run it on my own, as she is merely too simple to follow how the beauty of my own course.

However, after we completed HER course, I was allowed to go see my mother who was very happy and she gave me a few splendid tidbits of treats. Unfortunately, she kissed me in public and I was forced to squirm away until she let me back down.

My mother must have realized that I was quite a gifted agility competitor as she allowed my aunt to take my side on the course again the next day. This time, my REAL family came to watch. I heard their cheers of joy as I dashed through the course, making my own way over the jumps and through the tunnels. The daft woman was sitting again along the side of the course. Again, I ran over to her to ask if she needed assistance. She, again, refused my inquiries and help. By this time, my auntie had caught up with me and forced me to do her simple course.

I did thoroughly enjoy my first agility trial, even if the humans cannot fathom how great I truely am when I design my OWN course. I anxiously await this coming weekend for my next trial.

Oh, I should say that Katherine and Zorra were quite successful in their own right. They had won these mere ribbons for their endeavours. Zorra offered to share hers with me, but I politely declined. I will win much larger and more appropriate ribbons. If only I could ditch the humans and compete on my own!

Until we meet again, Diary.

Sincerely Yours,
Sam ASTA-fari Joe

Hello Diary,

I am quite embarrassed on how long it has been since I last added an entry. So many things have happened and I nary can comprehend whence to begin.

Ah, perhaps I should keep it short and simple, as I am short on time. I will soon make my agility debut with my Auntie. Of course, I am seemingly concerned about her skill level, not mine. Too bad I must compete with a human in tow. I know I could do it splendidly alone! I often do!. My courses are much more flowing, athletic, and have a degree of difficulty that a mere human cannot possibly understand.

Do wish me luck, Diary, as I am sure I will need it.

Respectfully yours,

Sam ASTA-fari Joe
