Smelling like the Purple Pie Man via a mysterious yet always present grape aroma on his nose.

Arrival Story:
Elly's mug shot at the local shelter caught my eye, mostly because of his one blue eye. I went to see him and didn't find him anywhere. I asked about him, and the very unfriendly shelter clerk said, "how'd you know about him?" They led me back to the incinerator room, where he was staying, and that was it. He was mine. He peed all over my backseat on the way home... the beginning of a series of increasingly unfortunate car "accidents" we've since resolved.

Bio:
Elliot's story is sad. He was picked up by animal control for running stray through his 'hood. When A.C. called his then-family, they said they didn't want him, but a family member would take him. He was subsequently found running loose again, and was again picked up by A.C. His new family didn't want him back. He was adopted out again to a household seeking a companion for their existing pet, and their report when they brought Elliot back to the shelter a third time was that they left him in a room with their dog who attacked him and they didn't get along. They didn't want him. He was adopted out a fourth time to a couple who returned him the next day. And then he went to the incinerator room, before I adopted him in 2004. It was not all peaches and cream -- he's got baggage like Louis Vuitton. He ate window blinds, poked holes in my drywall, ruined carpet, ate his cage tray... you name it. But he's my buddy and now feeling a little more confident in his teddybear body. He's definitely still got issues like separation anxiety and fear of other dogs (just not the ones he lives with) but he's mine all mine.
