Arrival Story:
A close friend and I were having a picnic in a park and this small bundle of floppy puppyishness came bowling up to us. We asked one of the park staff who owned the puppy and were told that a car had driven in that morning, pushed Toyah out and driven away knocking Toyah over in the process as she tried to keep up with the car. We let Toyah hang around with us for the rest of the afternoon and as my friend was a vet we took her with us when we left. Back at the surgery we popped Toyah in one of the cages and I rang my family to tell them about Toyah and see if we could keep her. The answer was obviously yes. We waited 10 days, leaving her at the surgery to see if anyone came forward to claim her but no one did. Toyah was unhurt from being hit by her previous owner's car by the way. She was only a few months old and was still all 'bendy' the way babies are. But she was old enough to leave her mother which was good.

Bio:
Toyah died on March 6th, 2006 at the age of 16 with liver cancer. She was put down by her life-long vet who also found the whole thing traumatic as he is very emotional and love animals a great deal. Toys had arthritis, fallen muscle, aching hips, had lost most of her eyesight and most of her hearing. When she was put down she had just started being unable to eat as much as usual. We we buried her, Yoshi couldn't understand at first why Toys was so still and cried a couple of times. He calmed down and was quite happy to go and eat weeds. As you do.
