Arrival Story:
2 years after our 15 year old Golden Retiever died, my oldest son was ready for a new family dog. He got to choose the breed and he settled on a GSP. We found a breeder 2 hours away with an adorable litter of rolly-poly pups. He picked out Buddy, but we had to wait 4 weeks untill he was ready. The boy was totally distracted at Disneyland knowing that he was going to get a new friend. When we went to pick him up, he was even more handsome than we remembered, with beautiful markings, a solid brown head and soft warm eyes. Buddy fit right into our family, except for the pet rabbit who used to terrorize the puppy. Payback was brutal for that silly rabbit. When Buddy got bigger he chased the bunny all over the house.

Buddy's boy has grown up and gone off to college. They still love each other, but they don't get to be together often. Buddy got a new job when Dad and Mom got divorced and Dad was very sad and lonely. Buddy was there for him every night after work and Dad learned about Buddy what the boy already knew- his heart is just as big as you need. A few years went by and Dad found a lady who has a beautiful graceful Pharoah Hound- "July". Buddy & July are getting to be almost as close as Dad & his to be wife. The bonus is a new boy is included in the deal! Buddy had to be euthanized July, 2005 due to untreatable growths in his sinuses. We talk about how we miss him almost every day. It helps the grieving to remember all his special quirks and how beautiful he was, whether runing in tall grass or curled up against us in bed. Enjoy dog heaven!
