Arrival Story:
After Tyler passed away, we were not sure we could fill the void he left in our hearts until we found Stubby on the Santa Clara Humane Society web site. We just couldn't resist the picture of this big dog on small dog legs. We adopted him in January 2003.

Bio:
I don't remember what my life was like before my family adopted me from the Humane Society, but I love the life I'm living these days. I have three very important jobs: (1) I keep all the squirrels, birds, and cats out of our yard, (2) I keep my family happy and amused by my frisky antics, and (3) I make less fortunate kids happy by volunteering as a pet therapy dog. I've been a therapy dog through Furry Friends (www.furryfriends.org) since February 2004. In return for my services, I get lots of hugs and pets and most importantly I get lots of treats! When I'm not on the job, I like to rest my snout in nice snout-shaped holes that I make in the dirt.

Forums Motto:

A Better Bed For Me - YIPPIE!

Thank goodness Ebony found a home. That big lady was getting way out of control, chest-thumping with Lucy and ignoring me! Bah! Now that she is gone, I am getting more attention from Mom and Dad, the way it should be. And Lucy plays with me again when the people are gone.

The good thing that came out of Ebony's stay is that Lucy shares her bed with me now, which means that I can sleep in front of Mom and Dad's room. Also, since it's cold at night, we cuddle together to stay warm. That is so much better than staying in my crate by myself.

Giving Up My Bed? Boo!

Well, Mommy and Daddy decided to foster Ebony, who looks like a giant version of Lucy. I don't mind having another dog in the pack, I suppose, but she is so tall I can't even sniff her butt. The first night she arrived, she fell asleep on my bed. MY bed! She takes up the whole thing, there is no way for me to share it with her. Humph! It's a good thing Lucy is a pushover and I can share her bed.

Another thing, she and Lucy play together and they are too big for me. Whenever I try to join in, I get trampled. Why couldn't we get a nice little houseguest? I'll be so happy when Ebony finds a forever home, then I only have to get along with Lucy and this "hairless puppy" that Mommy says is due in March.

*SIGH* Lucy and Ebony are chest-thumping again. I guess I will just go rest my snout outside in the dirt until they are done.

When Mom Stays Home

Mom decided to "work from home" today. She puts that big box on her lap and just taps away at it. Why is she ignoring me?

Now she is talking into the phone. Hello? What about me? I know, I will sit on her foot until it gets so hot she can't ignore the fact that I'm --

What was that?! WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF! Oh, it was a squirrel. That ought to scare it out of the yard.

Mom? Mom! She's still ignoring me. *SIGH* I'm bored. I guess I'll go outside. Oooh, the lawn smells nice. And the dirt is so nice and cool. Maybe I'll just rest my snout in this little divet. Ahhh, comfy!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
