No Gifts for the Dogs!!!

I've been putting off writing this entry because just thinking about it is so traumatizing for a dog. As many of you will recall, Mother's Day was celebrated on May 12. It just happens that one of my brothers also celebrates his birthday on the same day. As I've mentioned in the past, the humans always give both us dogs gifts whenever there is a special day for us so that neither of us feels left out. As you can imagine, Angel and I thought we were going to really hit the jackpot that day since it was a two gift occasion. As you can probably guess from the tone of this entry, we got NOTHING....ZILCH....NADA....NO GIFTS...ZERO!!!!! I don't have to tell you that both Angel Zoom Smokey and myself not only felt left out, but we also felt mistreated. How could the humans around here be so thoughtless? I could be in therapy for years because of this slight, and it would be all the humans fault!

Driving Through the ComicCon

I would like to send my prayers and power of the paw to the victims of the tornado in Okalahoma. I want to share a link to a dog who was found guarding the body of his dead human after the tornado. I think this photo shows that we dogs are a loving and loyal group--but I think the humans on dogster already know that!

I am still recovering from the ComicCon. I think that, if I go there in the future, some kind of doggy stroller would be a good idea. A dog who has to walk all day comes home with sore, tired paws. If the humans don't want to push it, I think an electric one would be cool since I could drive it myself. I'm a great driver!

Motor City ComicCon

I want to conpawtulate my pal, Mr. Cutter, for being chosen as a diary pick today, and also conpawtulations to Demon Flash Bandit, a great dog to be chosen as a diary pick. Yeah, it is me. I want to thank the dogs at dogster for giving me the honor a couple of days ago when I wasn't on the computer. I also want to thank my pals, Hershey and Van Winkie for the blue ribbon on my page, and I want to thank Coco Rose for the steak. I'm hoping Coco Rose and Puff will stop by an enjoy it with me!

I bet some of you were wondering why I haven't been writing entries, and the answer is the Motor City ComicCon. My humans were busy with it, and totally neglected their duty as my employees. I got to go myself, and it was quite an experience. No, I don't know that dogs are "offically" allowed, but they thought I was a human in a dog costume because that is what I told them. Since many of the humans dress in outlandish costumes, none of them even questioned that I might be a "real" dog!

The best part of the ComicCon was getting to meet a famous dog (although I suspect it was the dog's ancestor that was actually the famous one), Lassie. Jon Provost was there with Lassie, and my brother even got a photo of Lassie. Maybe I'll post it to my page if Mommy ever gets it done.

I'll tell you more tomorrow. This dog is still tired from all the walking over the weekend!

Bacon Dogs!!!!

There is big news for dogs!!! Oscar Mayer has announced "bacon dogs" will be arriving in stores soon-probably in time for Memorial Day. I am not fond of hot dogs, and refuse to eat them, but this company might just have invented a hot dog I might like. I am willing to give them a try because anything made with bacon sounds good to me! Here is the link:

When you scroll down to the bottom of the page (as long as they don't change the page), there is a photo of a man who is having a little bacon snack. This dog thinks that the amount of bacon is about right for a little snack.

Wondering?

Mommy had to leave us yesterday to run a couple of errands, and we were humanless for about an hour. I was okay with this because I usually nap and enjoy the time that I'm off duty watching out for the humans. However, Angel Zoom Smokey went particularly crazy. When Mommy came home, she had her back paws on the window sill and her front paws on the top of the window where she was trying to climb out of the house, which was not successful. Mommy said she looked like one of those "suction cup" Garfields that were on so many car windows decades ago. This brings me to my point. Am I the only one who thinks that Angel Zoom Smokey might be a cat? I don't think that is typical dog behavior, is it?

I want to thank all the dogs who sent me gifts of flowers and cups. I really appreciate them, but there were so many that I don't have time to list all of them individually, but I do want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart--or paw--whichever is the best. I want to conpawtulate my pal, Finley for being a diary pick today. Finley is enjoying pool ball since it is officially pool ball season, and even though Finley gets wet in the pool, the humans still insist on giving Finley a bath everyday. Humans....can't live with them unless they are trying to clean a dog!

Today I want to discuss a local dog who was recently on the front page of our local newspaper. That dog is Coco, whose human is Lucy Sanders. Lucy also runs Cosmos Kennel Club Bakery so you know that she likes us dogs. Coco was recently named the American Kennel Club Grand Champion at a dog show in Michigan, and she hopes to compete at Westminster one day. Coco is 4 years old, is 23 inches tall and weighs 82 pounds, and she is a chihuahua....okay, I'm just pulling your paw on that one. Coco is an Alaskan Malamute. I want to conpawtulate Coco, who I don't personally know, but it is always good to see a local dog win an award. She is part of Fall Moon Kennel in Howell, MI.

Angel Zoom Smokey: Very Bad Dog!!!

I am highly annoyed about my entry in yesterday's diary. I had to go and get a drink because I got thristy, and while I was getting a drink, Angel Zoom Smokey took it upon herself to write my diary entry while I was gone! I never said she was a delight to live with. In fact, I think I have been saying the opposite of that for a number of years. She takes my treats and toys, and spends most of her life zooming around the house..don't get me wrong...as long as she is zooming through the house, she is, at least, leaving me alone. Girl dogs....can't live with them, can't get the birds to take them either. Even birds are too smart to fall for their silliness. I am hoping that, since she took on my identity that I can get someone important like Homeland Security to arrest her!

This is Demon Flash Bandit thanking my pal, Anonymous, for the heart on my page. Today's entry is one I should have written a long time ago because it is about my favorite dog in the world, Angel Zoom Smokey. I know I have occasionally complained about her in the past, but that was just in jest. Angel is such a delightful dog to share a home with that I feel very lucky that she came into my life. Angel is not only a delight, but also highly intelligent and beautiful. In fact, I often wonder how she puts up with me, Demon Flash Bandit--the dog who is writing this entry. I repeat...Demon Flash Bandit is writing this entry. Angel Zoom Smokey did not take the opportunity while Demon gets a drink to write his diary for him!

Frustrated Dog!

Sometimes life can be frustrating for a dog. Take for example earlier today. I grabbed my box of Milkbone marrow bones to take them with me into the other room. Did you know if you grab the box with your mouth from the bottom, everything in the box falls out? That is something I learned today which seems to have something to do with gravity and annoying a dog. Now I have to carry them individually. I know a bird must be behind this somehow!
