 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: January 25th 2005
Likes: I love treats, visiting my dog friends, stretching after a good nap, and licking my paws. I go crazy 4 peanut butter sandwich cookies from Three Dog Barkery. I also have a boyfriend named DJ. And I love to eat al fresco with Mom and Dad.

Pet-Peeves: I HATE having my belly rubbed. Come to think of it - I don't care much for baths or nail clipping either!

Favorite Toy: I am spoiled rotten and have lots of toys. I like some of the old ones, but I mostly like new toys. I like tearing the fluffy stuff out and running around the house with a white beard!

Favorite Food: I love treats! All types of treats.

Favorite Walk: I love to walk through Grant Park to Lake Michigan. There I attract adoring crowds.

Best Tricks: Hippo, where are you?

Arrival Story: Mom and dad found me at a breeder near the Twin Cities. They flew up to visit me in February 2005 and fell in love with me immediately. Of course - I am adorable. When I turned 8 weeks old, Mom and dad drove up from Chicago a few weeks later and brought me home for good. It was a tough ride home, and few tough nights at home without mom and my 4 brothers, but I survived. I am actually named for an old Chicago Cub - Hippo Vaughn.

Bio: I live in a condo in the heart of downtown Chicago. Just steps from Lake Michigan and the Art Institute. I love to hang with my friends in Grant Park. Some of my best friends are DJ, Oso, Calvin, Klein, Mocha, Charlie, Annie, Spencer, Hudson, College, Beckett, Simon, Nigel, Eve, Maggie, Zorro and Cubbie. One of my best friends is Bob the Dog Walker.

I can't believe it's been so long since I last wrote to you. So much has happend this past year. I have gone on lots of trips in the car - but I don't really like driving except if I can sit in the front seat. I've met lots of friends at the park and have found a new Shar Pei friend, Bella, who thinks I'm her mom - it's really cute. She likes to give me kisses on the nose.
I had a run-in at the dog park and had to get some stitches in my neck - but I'm tough and made it through okay. The best part was all the attention I got and the extra treats because my mom and dad felt bad. But I'm okay now and the fur is growing back really fast.
I love the spring in Chicago - especially running around in grassy fields.
I have to take a nap now - I'll write more again soon!

I woke up mom and dad this morning. I did that thing where I jump off the bed and run to the door, making them think I am going to pee in the foyer. I sure fooled them.
Mom and dad took me for a walk in Grant Park and then into Printer's Row. I was a little depressed because we didn't see any friends. Especially since I wanted to show off my new green collar and leash.
Then we walked to the Gourmand coffeehouse for breakfast. We dined outdoors for the first time this Spring. It was so chilly during breakfast that I sat on dad's lap. I usually don't like to sit on anyone's lap for more than a second - so this was a real treat for dad. Usually the Gourmand brings me a Milk Bone for breakfast, but I didn't get one this morning. Woof! That's OK, dad says they have the best coffee in the neighborhood. A few strangers stopped by our table to say hello to me. I must be very special.

Dad took me to the park today. It was warm and lots of friends were playing off leash. It has been months since we've all played together. Let me see, Otto, Mark, Annie, Calvin, Klein, College, Beckett, Spencer, Osso, Hudson... wait! There's a couple of bike cops! Where is my leash? Gotta go.
