Whew!

Today I had to get nasty. There are some really sketchy people that live in my neighborhood and they had the nerve to walk into MY yard and shout something at my Mom!

I tell you what, they're lucky I was on a leash because I would've chewed every last one of them to bits.

They didn't realize Mom and I were out in the back yard, and they were just walking through our front yard like they owned it. Mom heard the ruckous and walked in front with me and told them to beat it. They yelled something obnoxious at my Mom and that was it. I gave them the whole performance - fur up on my back, teeth bared, lunging at the leash, and the very menacing deep bark/growl combo that I reserve for the lowlifes.

They sure got to moving quickly when I put on that show. Losers.

I made them something special. I hope they step in it when they walk back this way.

Poor Corv was inside and got to miss it, though by the sound of things, he was giving them his own little rant from the living room window. He might be small (by my standards) but he's mighty.

People. I tell ya. Mom rewarded me with a nice banana snack. Yum.

(Not to snitch, but Corvus isn't wearing green. Daddy thinks green is for girls, so he wouldn't let Mommy put a green color on Corvus...guess who's gonna get pinched? BOTH of them!!)

Feeling Better

Thanks for the good vibes, the well wishes, the prayers and the gifts everyone. I'm feeling much better, and though I still have to take it easy, it appears there is no permanent nerve damage and I will be okay.

I've been feeling well enough to rough up my little bro so I'd say that's a good sign.

Gee whiz, where does the time go?

Wow, I turn around and it's 2008 and I haven't written a diary in AGES!

So, here's what's going on...

Halloween night, we had guests, and someone left the door open and Sammy got out. We haven't seen him since. He was my BEST friend, and I've been so bummed about him being gone.

Corvus is doing great, we love the little guy here. He's a spaz though, but he's really sweet when he wants to be. He had to have nose surgery last November, because someone hit him in the face with something heavy before we got him, and his nose was broken. He started having a lot of problems breathing, but he's doing better now.

A stray cat had kittens under our porch. So...uh...we adopted them.

I was very bad to the sweetest kitten one night. He jumped up on my feeder while I was eating, and I head butten him. I thought it was Corvus. I didn't mean to hurt little Buff, but just the size/strength of my head swinging around was so great that I almost killed Buff. He had to go the ER and they recommended euthanasia, but we got a second opinion and fought real hard, and Buff is alive and well today. We cuddle now, he finally forgave me and isn't scared of me, and Mommy now puts the cats in the mudroom behind closed doors while I eat just in case I act up again.

I'm having a rough spell again..My back had been doing a little better for a while, but I slipped yesterday while playing and now it's worse than ever. Mom had to put me back on prednisone, and now we're waiting to see if that will help. I'm a little better today, but I still cry out when I stand up. I could use some extra prayers, if you've got some to spare. Mommy's heart gets so sad when she sees me struggle.

I've been bad and have neglected my Dogster pals for a while. Mommy was real busy for a while, but now she's been laid off from her job, so she's got tons of time on her hands. I'm sure you'll all start getting goodies from us, and lots of diary entries, since Mom has time to be on the computer now. I still haven't figured out how to use the computer...besides, my paws are too big for the keyboard.

Oh NO, it's a BROTHER!!

So...Mom, Dad and I head out for a road trip tonight. No biggie I think, it's always fun to go on a road trip. Well, half way along, I start to realize we're heading towards my best friend, Nova's house. Whooo hooo, even better. So, I'm excited, life is good, but then...........

When we get to our destination, out pops this little black dane looking puppy and Mom and Dad start cuddling him and calling him all these cutesie names. Next thing I know, he's in the van with us!!! Can you believe it????

So, here it is now, a few hours later and that little twerp is still here.

The humans keep calling him my "Brudder". I'm in for a real treat here, aren't I?

The Bestest Snacks EVER!!

So, my human likes to cook alot, and since I devour these every time she makes them, I thought I'd share the recipe.

I give this recipe a 4 paws up rating, and Mom gives it two thumbs up for ease of preparation, and short cook time. I highly recommend it for banana crazy danes, and for those who don't care much for cooking - Mom said it was a breeze!!!

Banana Pupcakes

2 cups Water
2 bananas
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 egg
3 tbsp honey

Heat oven to 350 degrees
Mash bananas in a bowl, then mix in other ingredients thoroughly. Pour into cupcake pans and bake for 20-25 minutes.

Mom also gets creative sometimes and uses different ingredients. I like the pumpkin/cinnamon pupcakes, applesauce pupcakes and Banana pupcakes the best!!

Home Cooking - Sweeeeet

So, Mom's getting the hang of this home cooked diet deal and I think I'm loving it. It's really tasty and I seem to be adjusting to it now. I played stubborn and wouldn't poop for two days which scared my Mom.

Other than that, not much news, which I guess is a good thing with me. I'm going to go get in some Cuz time now. My Mom has a headache and I know that the squeaking will really help her.

Icky tummy and yet another new diet plan....

So, my prescription diet isn't working so well on me anymore. I've been resorting back to the same ole icky tummy stuff again. Diarrhea, vomiting, and the whole nine yards....

Mommy got so frustrated with me feeling icky that she consulted a canine nutritionist and together they came up with a homecooked diet plan for me. I had my first meal last night and I loved it. Fingers crossed that this one works for me.

Other than that, I'm still the same ole Hannah. Being a total goober, hogging the bed and shredding my toys all over the house. It sure is good to be a spoiled brat.

Sick......again

Boy, this getting sick stuff is seriously getting old. This time it's my kidneys. I am on antibiotics, and I've had some fluids. Keep your fingers crossed it's just an infection. Mommy noticed I wasn't drinking much water while she was away....so we're hoping I just was dehydrated.

I go in for bloodwork Friday if it's not better. Fingers, paws and all that stuff crossed for me, huh?
