Arrival Story: Learned from Jaxon's previous owner that Lizzy was for sale. We met have way between my City and Chicago(she recently moved there) and picked the dog up. Since Jaxon had lived with Lizzy in the past, I took Jaxon with me. They slept next to each other all the way home.
Bio: Lizzy, as she is called, belonged to the owner's 7 yr old daughter and she had live there since being purchased as a puppy. Lizzy scratched her eye inside and may have a white film over the eye. So far that has not developed but it has to be washed and lubricated 3 time a day to keep it from drying out. She has a sweet personality, friendly and alert. She has adjusted to the move to our house without significate difficulty.
Lizzy has been removed from my breeding program and placed in a pet home with an older couple. Here she gets lots of love and attention as she is the only family pet.
Lizzy was removed from the program because she had the Alopecia trait and had the silver gray puppies at birth. She had the second litter with 2 Silvers just as were in her first litter. I am quite sure that the breeder that sold her to me knew she had this trait since Lizzy had a litter for her before selling her to me. She had 7 puppies in both of her litter. Two in each litter were the Silvers. My Vet. did not want me to distroy the puppies, and I just could not do that any way. These 4 puppies got good home and are still doing well today.
So far their hair is thinner than the other Yorkies but they are wonderful little dogs. The owner's of these puppies were well aware of the condition when they purchased them. I did not want to cause another puppy born with this condition or be breeding into the Yorkie line. Another heart break for me.
