Leave a bone for Jake - In Loving Memory

Jake the Flake, Mr. Jake, Jakee-Jake, Momma's baby boy

Rainbow Bridge
Quick Bio:
-mutt-pound dog

Chasing my feline house-mates, sleeping in my very own over-stuffed chair, running after frisbees (even though halfway there I forget what I was running after), following and barking at momma when she is vacuuming until she stops to vacuum me! KIDS< KIDS!

I hate storms, my mom thinks it is because I may have been kept outdoors for the first part of my life. Now, I don't leave her side if there is a storm. And I hate, hate, hate baths! I usually try to hide behind a tree but it never works for long.

Favorite Toy:
I love anything chewable. Those big bones that don't ever wear down are my favorite.

Favorite Food:
IAMS large breed is what I normally eat. But if my parents go to Mickey D's they always bring back a burger for me and Cookie (my bossy sister)

Favorite Walk:
Walk? I run! Mom tries to keep my RUNNING restricted to the back yard but once or twice I've gotten out. I love kids, so this Halloween when she put me out back, I got the gate open and went to say hi to all of the kids.

Best Tricks:
Jake's best trick is sleeping and yawning...he also can't catch a ball or frisbee to save his life, but he can catch a french fry or popcorn incredibly well!

Arrival Story:
I was dropped of at a shelter because my family was 'moving'. Mom was doing volunteer work at an SPCA in Charleston every week by doing their website and every week she'd walk me and show me to anyone who was looking for a dog. I was there for almost 2 months and one day when she came to my run, I put on my biggest sad face and she FELL for it. She called my dad and told him to bring the dog who would be my sister over to see if we'd get along and BAMM! I have a doggie sister, 2 feline brothers a neighbor/aunt that comes and plays with us and lets us out during the day, my own chair, we have our own treat drawer and jar, AND we get to sleep on the bed at night! I just love everyone...people, animals, inanimate objects...whatever...mom says that I could never hurt a fly. One time, there was goose that got into our yard and we tried to play with it but it fell on its back and couldn't get back up. Cookie and I brought it all of our toys but it still wouldn't get up. Mom says the goose won't be visiting again. I don't think it liked squeaky toys.

Jake is a big ol' mamma's boy. He has quite a personality and we often call him the 'Cartoon Dog'. You should've seen me chasing him all over the neighborhood this past Halloween while I was dressed up like Betty Boop! ARGH!! He was having the time of his life saying hello to all the kids and everytime I'd get close...he'd run to the next kid. He is truly my baby boy. He is a big cuddler and a total ham. Jake passed away two day after Cookie...he had been sick, but we really think that losing Cookie is what made him go down hill very fast, he stopped eating and, well, it was one of the saddest days of my life. I don't know that I will ever get over this.
