Notes: 11-7-05 Draven and her 11 pups were rescued from animal control in Houston, TX in June of this year. The pups were weaned and all have found good homes. Draven was very thin and heavily heartworm positive. Once her milk had dried up and she had put on some weight, she began heartworm treatment. A split treatment was used in order to reduce the risks associated with treating dogs for severe heartworm infections. Draven has now completed heartworm treatment and is a happy, healthy, active dog again.
We believe Draven is 2 to 3 years old. She's a little shy at first meeting, but is friendly and affectionate once she gets to know you. She plays well with her foster Catahoula brother and would probably enjoy a doggy companion in her new home. Draven is vaccinated and has been started on heartworm preventative. She will be spayed before placement. The vet recommended waiting to spay Draven until she had completed her HW treatment.
Bio:
Catahoula Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit corportation. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The fosterhomes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered if old enough. They have been wormed and tested for heartworms if over 4 months of age when rescued. All dogs are on heartworm preventative. We require a minimum $100 adoption fee to help offset these costs.

Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the fosterparent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue.
