Arrival Story:
JoJo was my college graduation gift to myself. I wanted a black female lab mix but the shelter in Greenfield, MA, really wanted to find a home for this dog they called Joe, because he'd been there a month already, was neutered and would be euthanized soon if no home was found. He was a very rude dog to me that day! I took him for a walk in the woods around the shelter; he ignored me and was very string--he just about dragged me on the ground! I took him back to the shelter, ready to tell them, "no way!" but they delayed (on purpose, I think) taking him back from me. There were no chiars, I sat on cold concrete to wait as I watched a family come pick up its beagle puppy. After several minutes, "Joe" came over to me, still not looking at me and still ducking his head when I reached to pet him, and SAT ON MY LAP! After siging the adoption paperwork and taking him out to my car, he leapt into the front seat, looked me right in the eye and gave me a quick kiss!

Bio:
JoJo died recently. He was my one true baby; I will always have a JoJo-shaped hole in my heart. He was almost 15, I think, and was happy and alert till the end. He had many old-age health problems but his spinal stenosis finally made him unable to walk and it was time. I miss him more than I can say.
