Pet-Peeves: Hurricane Katrina! My family could no longer keep me after.
Arrival Story: Notes: 9-26-05 Blue was rescued from a small rural shelter just north of New Orleans, Louisiana after hurricane Katrina. He was surrendered by his owner who could no longer provide a home for him. Blue is a good dog with a great personality. He loves to play with the female Catahoula in his fosterhome. Blue is being fostered in Houston, TX. He will be neutered before being placed.
Bio: Catahoula Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit corportation. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The fosterhomes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered if old enough. They have been wormed and tested for heartworms if over 4 months of age when rescued. All dogs are on heartworm preventative. We require a minimum $100 adoption fee to help offset these costs.
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first step is to complete the online adoption application available at our main website www.catahoularescue.com From the homepage, follow the link "How to Adopt". Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the fosterparent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue.
