Notes: 8-3-05 Cassandra was rescued from Keller Animal control near Ft. Worth Texas. A Catahoula Rescue volunteer raced to the shelter and managed to save Cassandra just 9 minutes before she would have been killed. The animal control officer was surprised that Cassandra got out alive. He never thought anyone would bother to save an old dog. Little does he know that the old dogs are the best dogs.
Cassandra's fostermom reports that she is a wonderful dog and a joy to have around. Cassandra has been to the vet and is completely healthy. Her age is estimated at about 8 1/2 years, so she still have many happy years ahead. Cassandra is friendly and easy going and enjoys the peaceful country life. She's happy just to have a home and family to watch over. The only thing that disturbs Cassandra's tranquility is thunderstorms. She's frightened of thunder and lightening and must be crated indoors during storms. If you have a place for Cassandra in your home and heart, she has alot of Catahoula wisdom to share.
Bio:
Catahoula Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit corportation. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The fosterhomes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered if old enough. They have been wormed and tested for heartworms if over 4 months of age when rescued. All dogs are on heartworm preventative. We require a minimum $100 adoption fee to help offset these costs.
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first step is to complete the online adoption application available at our main website www.catahoularescue.com From the homepage, follow the link "How to Adopt". Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the fosterparent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue.
