My Bithday is nearly here!!!

Nobody ever thought I would see my 9th bithday..

My first 6 months I spent with an old drunk, who wasn't really able to take care of even himself. As a puppy my food was ketchup and mustard at the local grill. That time I also learned to escape pretty fast if I heard sound of police sirens. If I wasn't quick enough, my old human used to drag me after him until I fainted. Even today I cannot wear a collar but my mom solved the problem with soft harness.

At the age of two I was paralyzed and couldn't feel my back legs at all. "Acute circulatory disorder in spinal cord", said the vet, "I give you two weeks to show me some reflections". Oh boy, that was tough time. Physiotherapy every day and later osteopathy for dessert. And lots and lots of attention from mom.

But here I am, running around and ready to celebrate my 9th birthday day after tomorrow (actually mom decided Feb 28th to be my birthday after the vet estimated my age 8½ years ago). Mom promised to take me to toboggan slope, it's my favourite fun to twist and turn down the slope surrounded by all the cheering kids! In the evening I will get an extra special bithday cake - big macaroni box with lots of minced meat and 9 smiling sausages as candles on top of it : )

Welcome to my birthday!!

Just like a new puppy wasn't enough - now we have a CAT, too!

Less did I know what moving to the countryside really means. Our family has grown again - now mama brought home this weird smelling thing called ARMSTRONG... dunno about the strong arms, at least this one has sharp nails!

It's a bit annoying though, I can smell Armstrong being close but I cannot see her unless she moves... her moves being something like climbing over me or playing with my beautiful tail and getting stuck somewhere there. This sight thing must have something to do with my age - nearly 3 years more than average Saint plus I paralyzed 5 years ago. Luckily mama said despite of the newbies I will always be the number one in her heart!

I know how to bark, too!

Now little did our mama know when she brought Laika home. "Laika" is a Russian word meaning "bark". Oh yes, that CuteLittlePuppy sure knows how to do it.... name is not an omen, is it?

Few days ago I tried how it feels to bark - mama said it was the first time she heard my dark voice. Now I have a new nickname Viskibasso, "WhiskeyBass". After my first bark Rolle, a german shepherd living close to us, has been such a quiet boy. Before that he used to bark the whole night long. My mama said she is so proud of me now and gave me a big bone, a lot bigger than what Laika got!
