Notes: 2-2-06 Update - Amazingly, Bero is still available. He went through Hw treatment with flying colors and is HW neg and on preventative. He had a potential adopter before Thanksgiving who said they would love to adopt him when their place was ready. We removed him from the website and Bero stayed in his foster home waiting for his new family. Unfortunately, their plans changed, so Bero is still looking for the right home.
6-21-05 Bero is an NALC registered Catahoula Leopard dog. Yes, these dogs do come in solid colors. Bero is a gorgeous black/tan/white 4 year old male. He's a sweet, easy-going, yet energetic dog. He's good friends with an male Australian shepherd in his foster home. Unfortunately, Bero was heartworm positive when rescued. He is currently being treated and is expected to make a full recovery. He'll be ready for a home of his own in August. Bero is being fostered near Luling, TX.
Bio:
Catahoula Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit corportation. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The fosterhomes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered if old enough. They have been wormed and tested for heartworms if over 4 months of age when rescued. All dogs are on heartworm preventative. We require a minimum $100 adoption fee to help offset these costs.
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first step is to complete the online adoption application available at our main website www.catahoularescue.com From the homepage, follow the link "How to Adopt". Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the fosterparent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue.
