Arrival Story:
Coconut was obviously lost or abandoned in our small town two springs ago. She wandered around "looking" for someone. Many people, including myself, tried to catch her but she wouldn't come to anyone. Then she just disappeared. About a month later a man known to all of us (this is a really small town) brought her into the vet clinic where I work. She had taken a liking to him about a month before and settled in at his house. Now she was obviously very pregnant and he being disabled and on a very tight fixed income, could no longer care for her. After being at the clinic for 3 days it was clear she was very near to delivery time so I brought her home. I thought her chances of being adopted either pregnant or with puppies were slim to none. She has been my precious angel ever since. Oh, by the way, the night I brought her home she gave birth to 5 very fat and healthy puppies. I think the very act of giving her love and safety when it came time for her to have her babies seemed to have been all the convincing she needed for her to decide that my husband and I were her new Forever Family. She is indeed a Precious Gift.

Bio:
I think Coconut is probably a mix of 2 purebreed dogs. I am just am baffled as to which 2. She stands about 15" tall at the shoulders , is very slim, has longish, curly, pure white hair which is very soft. Her skin is very pink. Her personality and desire to hunt and burrow are very Terrier like, but she also resembles a Poodle or even a very long legged Westie. Dog lovers in the know, any ideas?

My mommy just found a new site on the internet (What is That?)
She told me that she had posted me on it. I guess I should be glad. I know she loves me and is proud of me so I will go along with it. She says it is called Dogster. I want to update all of my family and friends on my life and my 5 babies. All of my babies have adopted out to good homes , all within 15 miles of me. My momma works for the vet and keeps track of them for me. One of my sons, Dusty, lives with us now. He is a handfull for me and Momma and Daddy, but we are so glad to have him here. My other babies are named Lizzie, Tally, Ace, and Daisy. Daisy has made me a Grandma. Heavens, I don't feel that old!!! She has a baby living with her, his name is Gizmo. His Daddy is also a Miniature Schnauzer. What can I say, they are just so handsome.

I am so very uncomfortable. My belly is very heavy and I'm feeling so anxious. I have been in this strange place for 2 days now but they have been so kind to me. There is a nice lady who gives me food and water and takes me for walks to go the bathroom. I wish she could understand how nervous and uncomfortable I am.
It is getting later in the day and I am feeling more anxious. Here comes the nice lady. Please, let her notice that I need help...
Oh, the nice lady just brought me a nice big box with towels in it. I feel much safer now.
I can tell by the position of the sun that it is now the time when all of the humans leave. They won't return until the sun is in that certain position in the sky tomorrow. I am afraid to be alone.
What is happening? The nice lady is picking me up and putting me in a big gray box (car). I remember this feeling, I am traveling with humans . Very soon we stop. The nice lady takes me and my nice big box indoors. I feel so much safer now.
It is now very dark outside. I feel so safe and peaceful. I know it is time for my babies to come. I know that they, and I are now safe.
By 1:00 a.m. (in human time) I had given birth to 5 very sweet babies.
I want to live with this nice lady FOREVER!!!
