It's been great! Not to hot, not to rainy and I've been outside a lot. Dad put in lots of plants around the pond, which meant he needed help with all the digging. I was there with all my paws, giving him a hand.
He also put in a patio by the back of the house, which meant....you got it....MORE digging. I bet helping dad cut down a lot of hard work for him. Mom didn't seem to think so. She muttered something about more dirt in the house than was in the yard; muddy paw prints through the carpet and me needing a bath every day when I get through with helping dad. But, yet, she seems to always have a smile and hug for me.

Well, mom has been busy this year. Her mom isn't in the greatest of health, so she has been taking care of her. Plus, she just had surgery herself, and was laid up and unable to get around very good.
I was a big help for her while she was on bed rest. She was teasing dad and said she need a bell to ring to get his attention. But, she doesn't need that as long as I'm around. I surprised her one day. She needed dad to get something, but didn't know for sure where dad was. She called my name a couple of times. I went to the bedroom door and looked in. She told me " go get daddy, find daddy". Well, I took off barking like crazy to get dad. I ran to him, ran back to the bedroom and back to dad again. He then followed me to the bedroom door, with a puzzled look on his face. Asked mom if she needed something. Well, I don't know who was prouder....mom, dad or me! They have never had me do anything like that before and I seemed to know what to do right away. Well, I do bark if someone says where's mommy or where's daddy; but they can be right beside me and I'll run off barking to somewhere else, other than the person they asked for. So, this was pretty cool to them.

Well, it's been a little over a week since Central Ohio had the big windstorm. We were without power for a whole four days. Mom and Dad were home with Chloe and I during all of this. It was kinda strange and neat at the same time, the darkness. Mom was upset that we lost all the food. Some of it didn't go to waste. Mom cooked the 9 pound pork loin she had just bought, shredded it and pour bar-b-q sauce all over and gave it to the neighbors.
Chloe and I got a couple of things from the frig and freezer. Mom said she hates to waste anything, and would rather give it to us dogs and the neighbor dogs than throw it out. I tell you, it was a feast!!!! Some chicken, some beef and a couple of other goodies. But, I bet this throws my diet WAY OFF!!!!! Well, it will be mom's fault this time.

Well, I've lost 4 pounds........so far. It's a start. All I know is mom is quite please with that; she better be pleased The pain and agony I have had to go through to lose those 4 pounds.....it was unbearable!
My sister, Chloe, just had a lump removed recently, and it came back positive for cancer. Mom is upset and the doctor said they think that they got all of the cancer out. Only time will tell.

Well, for one thing......I've been on a diet. AGAIN!!!! I went to the vet and weighed 46 pounds! Boy, oh boy.....did dad EVER get the evil eye from mom! She has been after him about giving me a bite of everything he eats. I had gotten so heavy, I couldn't slide under dad's side of the bed when he sleeps. I mean...that's my place to lay and guard him from the evils of the world.
Since then, Chloe and I both went on a diet and lost the some weight. I can get under the bed now, but still no extras from him. Mom says I still need to lose more....SPOIL SPORT!

Well, mom has been pretty lazy about updating my page, I mean, come on!!!! How is everyone suppose to know what I am doing if she doesn't write on this page! It's not like I can just get up there and type the message by myself, I don't have thumbs, and my spelling is awful.
Well, with winter in Ohio, there isn't a whole lot to do. Unless it snows and I love the snow. We had a BIG snowfall one weekend, a whole 20 inches!!! I've NEVER seen that much snow before. I run through it the best I could, and buried my nose through it looking for the bread cubes mom threw out for the birds.
Now, during this snow fall, it covered up Chloe's pond pretty good. I was in the yard looking for that special place to go, when mom noticed that I was getting close to her pond. She couldn't really tell if the pond was covered completely or not and called me to come back, when.......PLOP!!!!!! Into the pond I fell!!! (Now, don't worry, it's a performed pond which has a ledge about 4 inches around the upper part of the pond. I could touch the bottom and could get my paws on the ledge to hang on. And the pond is only about 60 feet from the door) But mom opened the back door to get her boots so she could go grab me out of the pond and told dad I fell into it. You should have seen dad......I think he had a red cape on and flew through the air to get to me so quick! He ran full speed through all that snow, without boots, in his lounging jammies to rescue me. He got down and grabbed my collar and bunny butt and lifted me right out of the water.....MY HERO!!!!! (I have to admit, I was crying like crazy, being a little scared). I ran around in the snow and grabbed my toy for dad to play with me, which he thought was pretty silly. So, now the first thing mom says they are going to do when it's time to close the yard up for the winter, is to cover Chloe's pond up as soon as her fish are taken out. NO MORE POLAR SWIMMING for me.
So, that was my big excitement for the winter. Like I said, in Central Ohio....winters stink. They're usually cold, damp and rainy or icy. But, now it's spring and I get to help dad with all the digging he will be doing. He is working on the big pond...AGAIN and making a bog for the fish to have their water filtered naturally (told you my pawrents spoil animals). I'll help him do the digging and be the inspector to make sure he does it right.

Boy, oh, boy......and he left a couple of neat toys for me, too!
Chloe and I got some chewy treats from mom's best friend. Chloe got an aquarium with real live fish in it and I got a latex monkey and tiger toys that squeak, and a lamb that squeaks.
Chloe and I got a special T-shirt for dad. It has a picture of a corgi that look almost like me on the front. The saying is: Plan for the day....let the dog out....let the dog in....let the dog out....let the dog in. BOL!!!! And that's what Chloe and I do to dad all day long when he is up.
Then, Chloe and I got mom a new jacket, so that she could have something to wear as she takes us out.....we didn't want her to feel left out!
And, if that wasn't enough, Chloe and I got REAL turkey in our food for our Christmas breakfast!!!!
Too bad Christmas only comes once a year, but the love mom and dad gives us is all year long.
Merry Christmas, everyone!!!!

At Dawes Arboretum. It's a neat place in central Ohio. You have to check it out. Here's the link to it:
http://www.dawesarb.org/
It has hiking trails and little garden areas all over the place. You'll see birds, squirrels, chipmunks and if you're real lucky....a deer running in the forest area.
Mom and dad took me and Chloe for a special morning together out there today. It was GREAT!!!!!! Walking around and sniffing all the neat smells that I don't get around my home. Of course, I had to lead the way all the time and not let Chloe get ahead of me. But, she got to do something I didn't get to.....she got to roll for just a second in some goose poo!!!! Boy, does she ever have all the luck. Mom had me and kept a pretty close eye on me. Dad, he was letting Chloe sniff aroud the poo and just as mom said don't let her roll, down her shoulder went for a quick touch. I'll have to learn and be either quicker or sneakier about it.

We're playing tag on Club Corgi, Taho tagge me, and I tagged YOU! So, here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!
1) I LOVE to lick mom and dad's leg right after they get out of the shower.
2) I almost only drink water from the tub facet. I'll sit by the tub and whine to get a drink of water, even though my bowl is full
3) I go completely BONKERS when dad gets ready for a shower. I bark and bark and run around him. I don't do it for mom
4) My nickname at the vet is Woosey Boy because I cry like they are killing me when I get my nails clipped.
5) I always have to drag a toy outside when I go to the bathroom. Of course, I never bring it back in.
6) I HATE car rides. Nope, don't like them a bit.
7) I LOVE BEER!!! Mom and dad have to watch their's like a hawk or I'll drink out of their glass or try and steal their bottle.

But, I'm feeling much better now. Somehow, I got some kind of bacterial infection and wasn't eating and going way too much to the bathroom. So, off to the vet I went, for blood work, urine test (that was funny watching mom try and get a urine sample. She rigged up a little jar held by a stretched out wire hanger. BOL!!! she followed me around waiting for me to go, and then just stuck it under me) and an ultasound. Anyway, the good thing about being sick was that mom had to cook me chicken and rice to eat for two whole weeks!!!YUMMY!!! One of my pills I had to take with a meal, and since I wouldn't really eat my dog food, she had to cook it special for me.
Well, now that I'm feeling better, I don't get the chicken and rice anymore. DARN!!!! I mean, I don't want to feel bad again, but I sure would like to have chicken and rice all the time.

And I'm driving my parents crazy!!!! I keep running them in and out, in and out to play, but it's way too cold to do that. With the snow, the freezing rain on top of it, playing hasn't been much fun. Mom won't really play toss with me because in the fall, I sprained my leg a little and it really hasn't healed very well. Guess that's because I won't keep quiet enough for it to heal. Everytime she thinks it's getting better, I start frapping and strain it again.
Anyway, I am also getting grumpy with Chloe, Bubba and Lissie. I'm barking at any little noise. I'm whining for constant attention and the playing catch with toys in the house just isn't cutting it. You can't get a good run in the house for a good game of catch.
I've destroyed a couple of my toys in frustration.......just disemboweled them completely. Pretty soon, I won't have any stuff toys left, except for my raff as mom calls it. It's my very first toy, a stuffed giraffe. I've managed to chew off it's nose and it's little antlers it had, but that's about it. I've started to defuzz it lately, so it's not looking good for him.
I WANT SPRING NOW!!!!!!!!!!

She runs outside and about buries herself in the snow. Not me, baby!!! I like the snow when it is nice and fluffy, but when the temps get to where they are right now in the teens and lower......No way, Jose!!!
I run out and do my business and then right back it.......fluffy butt or not, I'm not sticking outside in those temps for anything. Not even for a peanut butter filled kong with a dog biscuit.
Well, maybe a peanut butter filled kong with two dog biscuits.

Santa brought me a new squeeky thingie, just what I wanted!!!! I LOVE MY SQUEEKY THINGIE!!!! It's my third one of the same thing. Dad tossed it up in the air, I chase after it and when it bounces I catch it and bring it back to dad to do it again, and again, and again, and again. I think you get the picture.
I also got a stuffed toy that looks like a chipmunk that squeeks, another thing I love. I also have taken Chloe's stuffed squirrel that Santa brought her, she isn't playing with it much. Although, when mom catches me with it, she takes it away and takes it to Chloe to try and get her to play with it.
And, mom says we'll get some people food today as an extra special treat. Getting people food from mom is special, she doesn't give it too us very often.
I wish Christmas was EVERYDAY!!!!!

I keep practicing that, so I'll sound sincere when I see Santa Claus. Mom says I'm only getting coal and sticks for Christmas this year. But, I saw her wink at dad, so I know she is just joking.
This will be my 3rd Christmas, and I hope I get lots of new chewies, and rawhide sticks, and throw toys and beef snacks and chicken snacks and liver snacks and.....what's that, mom........I can't have everything I want.......but, I've been a very good little boy!!!!!! I plan to leave Santa some milk and cookies so that he'll give me everything......what.....I have to let other dogs have something also.....well, alright.......but, I still have been a very good little boy.

Now I know why Garfield said that diet is DIE with a T!!! After going to the vet about my leg to see if I had a torn ACL (which I didn't, thank goodness), she has put my on a diet. So what if I'm 40.1/2 pounds. I'm a big boy, she is always telling me that. Guess she doesn't want me to be THAT big of a boy, though. So, she got me weight management food, gives me a half a cup 3 times a day with green beens, carrots or pumpkin. I thought it was treats at first, but now I know better. Even dad is in on this scheme!!! I haven't been getting my share of the potato chips when we are watching football anymore. I don't even get his last bite of burger and fries anymore. (Mom is keeping a close eye on him also, making sure he doesn't do it-darn it!) My sister, Chloe isn't too keen about this diet either. She has to eat the same thing so that I don't try and scarf down her food when I'm done.
I don't know if I've lost anything, but I'm getting so weak.......NEED MORE FOOD!!! Like the cookies, potato chips, some of daddy's food when he is eating, you know that good stuff!!!!

And I DONT like it!!!!!!
Mom finally got around to giving me a B-A-T-H. She has been just wiping me down with those hand wipes because I'm always digging with dad, or else she probably would have given me several by now.
But don't worry, I gave it the old corgit battle through the whole ordeal. Why, by the time she was done with me.....she was just as wet as I was. Of course, Chloe, she had to stand there and be the good little girl for hers. Must be the chow in her, because I'm sure if she was pure corgi, she would have fought it off, too.
Now, to be able to sneak out and roll in something to get my smell back. Heh...heh...I'll show mom that all that work was done for nothing.

I LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!
Mom saw where Corbu and LiL' Anne was talking all about their ball they play with. Well, mom decided to try one more time to get me a ball and hope I dont' pop it in 5 or 10 minutes.
I chased it through the yard just barking up a storm. I also think getting my front paws on top of if is fun. I try and stop mom from picking it up and tossing it, but it's a little big for me to do that. I also have chased after it and put my front paws on it and WHOOPS! almost roll right over the top of it.
Mom likes it because is gives me the little bit more exercise I need that she isn't able to give me on her work days. Besides, she'll ask me to get my ball and then I'll amuse myself for a couple of minutes. Have to keep practicing my natural herding skills.

Seeing how I've been a prisoner for the past week in my own home. Yeah, that's right.....inside for almost a week. Well, other than going out in the early morning and late evening for a few minutes; and out in the afternoon just to do "business" as mom likes to call it.
Temperatures have been around 96 to 98 with the heat index (whatever that is) over a 105; mom says "NO WAY,JOSE" are you going out. Well, that Jose's problem not mine, she said he wasn't going out; not me. But still, she keeps me inside to be bored....bored.....bored.
Sure hope this weekend is better. I've got a lot of yard frapping to do. I'm way behind schedule.

Mom keeps talking about it being hot and fried eggs on the sidewalk. I have no idea where that fried egg is, but I keep looking for it. But I do agree with mom.....IT'S HOT!!!!!!!! I haven't even been wanting to play tug or chase my little UFO thingy dad usually throws for me.
So, I've been sitting under the tree by the pond with dad, (and hoping he'll give me some of that beer, which he won't) enjoying what little breeze that does come along. I did bite the wheels of the lawnmower when dad got it out of the shed to cut the grass. I don't like it and I have to show it I'm not afraid, and it better not hurt dad! Then, dad put me in the house, while he kept chasing after it up and down the yard. I don't know why dad chases it and won't let me. I'll have to try and figure that one out.

Well, that is what mom calls it. I can't wait for mom or dad to take their shoes off. I LOVE to sit and lick their toes. I almost go into a hypnotic state mom says. If their feet are flat on the ground, I try and stick my nose under them and lift them off the floor. After that, I can't understand why mom doesn't want any kisses from me?
I did have a shoe fetish for a while, so which one would she rather me have? I agree with Chloe, humans, they sure do make you wonder

Dad just got finish with another pond in the yard! This one is smaller, and has a pier around it, with a lighthouse, a post with a pelican holding a fish in it's mouth, and fish net with lures and seashells. It's neat. PLUS.....more fish. He made this one so my sister, Chloe, can watch them fish instead of the ones at the big pond. Mom and dad were afraid that she would jump in the big one and have trouble getting out. This little one isn't as deep and she can get in it if she wants. Me, I like it because I can snagged the little food pellets the fish don't eat. Mom keeps telling me that I'm not a fish...or a bird, because I eat the birdseed if any drops, or a woodchuck, becaue I'm always trying to gnaw on some wood. It's the rocks I find and try to chew that drive mom nuts.
Also, I got to meet "Aunt" Nina and "Uncle" Howdy from Florida. They're neat! Uncle Howdy played tugged with me and tossed my rope for me to chase. Aunt Nina kept saying how much I looked like the corgi's her and mom had when they were younger. I gave them my best smile when I met them and danced all around them also. They're only here a week, which is too bad......I want them to come and see me ALL the time.

Holey Moley!!!!
My dog sister, Chloe and my cat sister, Lissie both have been chosen for Today's Picks within the last week! They both are so lucky, and I'm very proud of them. A little jealous, too. But, mommy said my day will come, just be patient. Doesn't she realize how HARD that is for a two year old corgi?!
I'll just have to keep my paws crossed and hope that one day, I too, will be chosen!

I'm 2 years old!!! Mommy gave me some Bil-Jac dog food, frosty paws and made some beef jigglers! I wasn't top thrilled over those, they felt funny in my mouth; but Chloe liked them. I also gave some to the dogs next door. Even though they don't come in my yard, they're BIG dogs, (and I'm scared of BIG dogs); I did share my birthday meal with them.
Mommy got me a new squeaker toy, left it in the bag with a little knot at the top. She was curious if I would try and get it out. I nosed the bag for a second, then nosed it REAL hard; heard that squeak, and that was it took for me to keep trying to get the toy out of the bag. Which of course I did, cause you know we corgis are VERY determined when we want to be. It's my favorite toy, my third one, in fact. I've already worn out two of them. Mom calls it my UFO thingie for a lack of a better description. I don't care what she calls it, as long as I got one that squeaks and isn't falling apart.
Also, my daddy seems pretty sad the last couple of days. I heard something that his mommy is gone. I know I would be sad if my mommy went away. So, I've been real quiet, sitting or laying real close to him, and licking his hand every now and then. So has Chloe. He seems to like that. I think I'll keep doing that until daddy isn't so sad anymore.

Chloe got into the pond the other day, and daddy wasn't too happy about that. He help get her out and made sure she was alright before he called her bad girl. I felt bad for Chloe, she looked so sad. And then, daddy put her in the house for a while. Boy! He must have been upset!
A little later, he was petting her, so he wasn't too mad. He said he now is going to make a pond just for Chloe and I to have so we can play in it all we want!!! It'll have the fountain and waterfall and gold fish, just like mom and dad's pond. But it'll be mine and Chloe do get in whenever we want and do what ever we want.
I guess Chloe getting in trouble sorta paid off for us!!!

That's what mom has been saying to me lately whenever I see Bubba, my cat brother. Seems like he's be coming around and staying downstairs more and more. So, being the good boy I am, I've just been walking up to him and sniffing him some. And for a change, he isn't running away or hissing at me anymore! Me, I always thought that hissing sound was a signal to try and play. Mom always made me go away when Bubba would hiss; I wonder why?
I had an upset tummy a couple of days ago, and mommy felt real bad for me. She kept saying it was her fault, but I don't know how. All I did was have a bone with something called Bar-B-Que sauce on it. I didn't feel like eating for two days. Can you believe that!!! A corgi not eating for two whole days!! Mommy gave me a half of tablet of Tums, she didn't think it would hurt me any. She said if I didn't feel better in the morning, I was going to the VET. But, I did start to feel better in the afternoon after she did give it to me. So she said, no more Bar-B-Que sauce for me, and you know something, I have to agree. But I think her saying the VET is what made me feel better.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, it is. Dad says he has to put the rocks around it, put my little bridge up, and plant flowers and such. Me.....IT'S DONE! I can run up to the edge and get a drink of water anytime I want. Mom put a picture of me helping dad with some of the hand digging. She was trying to get a picture of me covered in dirt and mud from helping, but I wouldn't sit or stand still long enough. Hey, there's was work to be done.
And, there's funny things in the pond moving around. I keep trying to reach in to grab one of them, but they move out of the way too quick. They're kinda pretty, going around and up and down in the water. Mom says they're goldfish, whatever in the heck that is.
Mom was saying something about a B-A-T-H. That's a new spelling for me. But is putting it off because dad has to do just a little more digging, but boy, is she ever brushing me a lot and taking a wet rag to me. Guess that's okay, as long as she doesn't put me in the bathtub and put soapy water on me anytime soon. I'm going to have to figure out what a B-A-T-H is..........

I must have beening having some kind of dream last night according to mom. About 4 in the morning, I was under the bed, when I started howling just like a wolf. Scared mom to death!!!! She called for me and I looked like I was just woken up; but she checked me over to make sure I was okay. Then back under the bed I went, (into my little cave as mom calls it.) I must have been dreaming I was a wolf and was calling for my brothers and sisters to join me. Yeah that's it! Duncan of the Yukon!!!! Feared by all polar and grizzly bears!!!
Duncan-Winner of the Iditarod!!! Wins race in record time!!! I think I'll hurry back to sleep and dream some more!! Nitey-nite

Boy, was I ever busy yesterday helping dad. He has decided to make the pond bigger and to put goldfish in it this year. So, he had to do some digging, and I made sure to show him how it was done right! He was using some funny looking metal thingie (that didn't look like it would loosen the dirt very well , if you ask me). So, I got in the hole and showed him what puppy paws could do! I must have been doing a good job, cause at one point he was just leaning on that metal thingie watching me and smiling. Dad and mom were talking about all they were going to do to the pond this year. They even have a little bridge for me and Chloe to walk across. I still wonder what "goldfish" are and why mom is so worried about how I will act around them. Well, the only thing those goldfish have to know is this, that is my pond and my favorite drinking spot in the summer (when I can snitch a drink without mom telling me no). Well, I better rest up. Dad and I are going to go back to work as soon as this rainy spell ends. Bark at you all, later!!!!!

Like my bio said, mom has been wanting me for a long time. She had a corgi when she was younger (MUCH younger, but I'm not suppose to say that!). Over the years, she has lived in apartments that wouldn't allow dogs and when she finally got her house, she did some sweet talking to dad and he finally gave in and allowed her to have a dog. (Probably he just got tired of her talking about wanting one she says) Anyway, my dad has never really had a dog, and wasn't keen on getting one. But, he's really a softie and lets mom have whatever she asks him for, because he says she never asks for much.
When I first got to my new house, one of the first things I did, was jump into a little pond they had in the backyard and dad had to scoop me out of it. And then, when mom wasn't looking, I slip over to her glass of beer and tried to drink it!!! Dad thought that was so funny!!! So now, they make sure there is no beer around for me to get into. (Although I will grab dad beer bottle when he is outside and see if anything is in it, which there NEVER is!). Dad and I are best of buddies, he is so amazed at me. He said he never knew a dog could be so smart! In fact, mom said she is going to send BOTH of us to obedience school so we'll both behave better. I even know some of the words they've started spelling in front of me and what they mean.
I am pretty spoiled that's for sure. I have anything I want, almost. Mom puts a stop to dad giving me treats all the time when she is home. That's the secret, mom is usually out of the room.
I have a sister, named Chloe, you'll have to check out her site. She doesn't play a whole lot, but when we frap; the floors are a shaking as we run from room to room after each other. And another brother and sister, they're both cats. Bubba is the old tomcat and he doesn't care for me. All I want to do it play with him. Then there is Lissie, she's my age and we are playmates. We play fight all the time, and take turns cleaning each others faces.
I look forward to meeting more friends here on dogster and seeing what everyone is up to!!!
