Mom just realized that she hasn't been doing a very good job on keeping people posted about me. But, I forgive her. This past year has been pretty rough on her.
Her mom's health never improved and she was over there constantly. But, her mom passed away around Christmas time. I helped her through her sad time of it by being as close to her as I could. I knew she wasn't happy and I wanted to make her feel better. So, now, she is taking care of her dad at least once or twice a week. She's is just so busy.
Then, she was in a car wreck on New Year's Day. Someone hit her from behind and totaled out her car. Best part was, mom wasn't really hurt at all, just a little stiff. That was some nice car to keep her so safe for me.
Then, she had to have surgery on her other foot. So, it was up to Chloe to keep her company again, while she laid in bed getting better. My job was to go get dad for her when she needed him. I was pretty fast running for dad and barking the whole way when she told me to. Now, she is up and walking and doing just great.
So far, this season has been real nice. Dad has been puttering outside like he always does. Me, I protect him from the lawnmower whenever he starts it up. I have to run up and bite the wheels to make sure it knows that I'M THE BOSS in the yard and it better not forget it and hurt my dad. Then it has me to deal with.
Well, with mom not as busy, she might be able to keep my page better updated on what in going on in my world.

It's been great! Not to hot, not to rainy and I've been outside a lot. Dad put in lots of plants around the pond, which meant he needed help with all the digging. I was there with all my paws, giving him a hand.
He also put in a patio by the back of the house, which meant....you got it....MORE digging. I bet helping dad cut down a lot of hard work for him. Mom didn't seem to think so. She muttered something about more dirt in the house than was in the yard; muddy paw prints through the carpet and me needing a bath every day when I get through with helping dad. But, yet, she seems to always have a smile and hug for me.

Well, mom has been busy this year. Her mom isn't in the greatest of health, so she has been taking care of her. Plus, she just had surgery herself, and was laid up and unable to get around very good.
I was a big help for her while she was on bed rest. She was teasing dad and said she need a bell to ring to get his attention. But, she doesn't need that as long as I'm around. I surprised her one day. She needed dad to get something, but didn't know for sure where dad was. She called my name a couple of times. I went to the bedroom door and looked in. She told me " go get daddy, find daddy". Well, I took off barking like crazy to get dad. I ran to him, ran back to the bedroom and back to dad again. He then followed me to the bedroom door, with a puzzled look on his face. Asked mom if she needed something. Well, I don't know who was prouder....mom, dad or me! They have never had me do anything like that before and I seemed to know what to do right away. Well, I do bark if someone says where's mommy or where's daddy; but they can be right beside me and I'll run off barking to somewhere else, other than the person they asked for. So, this was pretty cool to them.

Well, it's been a little over a week since Central Ohio had the big windstorm. We were without power for a whole four days. Mom and Dad were home with Chloe and I during all of this. It was kinda strange and neat at the same time, the darkness. Mom was upset that we lost all the food. Some of it didn't go to waste. Mom cooked the 9 pound pork loin she had just bought, shredded it and pour bar-b-q sauce all over and gave it to the neighbors.
Chloe and I got a couple of things from the frig and freezer. Mom said she hates to waste anything, and would rather give it to us dogs and the neighbor dogs than throw it out. I tell you, it was a feast!!!! Some chicken, some beef and a couple of other goodies. But, I bet this throws my diet WAY OFF!!!!! Well, it will be mom's fault this time.

Well, I've lost 4 pounds........so far. It's a start. All I know is mom is quite please with that; she better be pleased The pain and agony I have had to go through to lose those 4 pounds.....it was unbearable!
My sister, Chloe, just had a lump removed recently, and it came back positive for cancer. Mom is upset and the doctor said they think that they got all of the cancer out. Only time will tell.

Well, for one thing......I've been on a diet. AGAIN!!!! I went to the vet and weighed 46 pounds! Boy, oh boy.....did dad EVER get the evil eye from mom! She has been after him about giving me a bite of everything he eats. I had gotten so heavy, I couldn't slide under dad's side of the bed when he sleeps. I mean...that's my place to lay and guard him from the evils of the world.
Since then, Chloe and I both went on a diet and lost the some weight. I can get under the bed now, but still no extras from him. Mom says I still need to lose more....SPOIL SPORT!

Well, mom has been pretty lazy about updating my page, I mean, come on!!!! How is everyone suppose to know what I am doing if she doesn't write on this page! It's not like I can just get up there and type the message by myself, I don't have thumbs, and my spelling is awful.
Well, with winter in Ohio, there isn't a whole lot to do. Unless it snows and I love the snow. We had a BIG snowfall one weekend, a whole 20 inches!!! I've NEVER seen that much snow before. I run through it the best I could, and buried my nose through it looking for the bread cubes mom threw out for the birds.
Now, during this snow fall, it covered up Chloe's pond pretty good. I was in the yard looking for that special place to go, when mom noticed that I was getting close to her pond. She couldn't really tell if the pond was covered completely or not and called me to come back, when.......PLOP!!!!!! Into the pond I fell!!! (Now, don't worry, it's a performed pond which has a ledge about 4 inches around the upper part of the pond. I could touch the bottom and could get my paws on the ledge to hang on. And the pond is only about 60 feet from the door) But mom opened the back door to get her boots so she could go grab me out of the pond and told dad I fell into it. You should have seen dad......I think he had a red cape on and flew through the air to get to me so quick! He ran full speed through all that snow, without boots, in his lounging jammies to rescue me. He got down and grabbed my collar and bunny butt and lifted me right out of the water.....MY HERO!!!!! (I have to admit, I was crying like crazy, being a little scared). I ran around in the snow and grabbed my toy for dad to play with me, which he thought was pretty silly. So, now the first thing mom says they are going to do when it's time to close the yard up for the winter, is to cover Chloe's pond up as soon as her fish are taken out. NO MORE POLAR SWIMMING for me.
So, that was my big excitement for the winter. Like I said, in Central Ohio....winters stink. They're usually cold, damp and rainy or icy. But, now it's spring and I get to help dad with all the digging he will be doing. He is working on the big pond...AGAIN and making a bog for the fish to have their water filtered naturally (told you my pawrents spoil animals). I'll help him do the digging and be the inspector to make sure he does it right.

Boy, oh, boy......and he left a couple of neat toys for me, too!
Chloe and I got some chewy treats from mom's best friend. Chloe got an aquarium with real live fish in it and I got a latex monkey and tiger toys that squeak, and a lamb that squeaks.
Chloe and I got a special T-shirt for dad. It has a picture of a corgi that look almost like me on the front. The saying is: Plan for the day....let the dog out....let the dog in....let the dog out....let the dog in. BOL!!!! And that's what Chloe and I do to dad all day long when he is up.
Then, Chloe and I got mom a new jacket, so that she could have something to wear as she takes us out.....we didn't want her to feel left out!
And, if that wasn't enough, Chloe and I got REAL turkey in our food for our Christmas breakfast!!!!
Too bad Christmas only comes once a year, but the love mom and dad gives us is all year long.
Merry Christmas, everyone!!!!

At Dawes Arboretum. It's a neat place in central Ohio. You have to check it out. Here's the link to it:
http://www.dawesarb.org/
It has hiking trails and little garden areas all over the place. You'll see birds, squirrels, chipmunks and if you're real lucky....a deer running in the forest area.
Mom and dad took me and Chloe for a special morning together out there today. It was GREAT!!!!!! Walking around and sniffing all the neat smells that I don't get around my home. Of course, I had to lead the way all the time and not let Chloe get ahead of me. But, she got to do something I didn't get to.....she got to roll for just a second in some goose poo!!!! Boy, does she ever have all the luck. Mom had me and kept a pretty close eye on me. Dad, he was letting Chloe sniff aroud the poo and just as mom said don't let her roll, down her shoulder went for a quick touch. I'll have to learn and be either quicker or sneakier about it.

We're playing tag on Club Corgi, Taho tagge me, and I tagged YOU! So, here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!
1) I LOVE to lick mom and dad's leg right after they get out of the shower.
2) I almost only drink water from the tub facet. I'll sit by the tub and whine to get a drink of water, even though my bowl is full
3) I go completely BONKERS when dad gets ready for a shower. I bark and bark and run around him. I don't do it for mom
4) My nickname at the vet is Woosey Boy because I cry like they are killing me when I get my nails clipped.
5) I always have to drag a toy outside when I go to the bathroom. Of course, I never bring it back in.
6) I HATE car rides. Nope, don't like them a bit.
7) I LOVE BEER!!! Mom and dad have to watch their's like a hawk or I'll drink out of their glass or try and steal their bottle.
