Tails of Sophie: Killer of Pine Cones

It is a dogs life

Hey everyone -

It has been awhile since I have written anything, so here is an update of what has been going on in my life.

Mommy and Daddy took me to this little dog beach on the bay in Annapolis, where there was a bunch on dogs for me to play with. We got to run on the sand and play in the water. I loved it so much that I begged them to take me to the real beach.

A little while later, they packed up the car and we drove to Assateague Island, where I saw wild ponies and lots of deer. Then we spent the entire day on the beach. I loved digging in the warm sand. I also like throwing the sand at Daddy, he didn't seem to enjoy it as much as I did though. The best part of it all was swimming in the ocean. The waves were really good, and a couple knocked me down but I kept going. Mommy helped me get out past the waves and then she tossed my ducky and I had to get it. It was fun. I met some really cool dogs at the beach and we had fun wrestling in the sand. I learned the hard way that it is not good to drink salt water, it made my tummy hurt but I had fun anyway.

We got to stay in a hotel that night, and I spent the whole night bothering Daddy and Mommy, trying to take over the bed or the couch.

Every weekend, Mommy takes me over to the dog park, where all of my friends hang out. I love running around and wrestling with everyone. I make sure that I get really dirty so that Mommy has to give me a bath when we get home. Bath time is almost as fun as the park.

My best friend Ollie comes over almost every night on his way home from his walk and we play in mt yard. Sometimes he comes in the house and tries to eat my food or steal my treats, but that is ok.

Mommy and Daddy have learned now that I love to chew up everything, so they go to the dollar store alot and buy me new stuffed animals. After I am done with my new toys it looks like there has been a massacre at our house. I still try every now and then to get their shoes, but they always out them up were I can't get them. I can't wait until I am big enough to reach them. They are so tasty

So that is pretty much what has been going on in my world. I will write more later. I can't wait to see this thing called snow that my parents keep talking about. I bet it is cool. When it comes I will tell you all about it.

Memorial weekend

Ok, so Mommy and Daddy totally surprised me with a trip to the National park in Shenandoa Vally called Skyline drive.
It was the first time I had ever been camping and we where in a tent, I had so much fun chasing trout and ducks and I learned how to swim!!!
I was struggling at first becasue I was trying to keep my hind legs on the bottom and doggie paddle, but after a while Mommy came into the river with me and held my butt up, it took me just a couple of minutes after that and I was off like a champ.
After that I played with an old black lab in the river, he was swimming much faster than me and always got the stick so I had to attack him on the swim back and try and steal it, was fun for a while but I guess he got sick of me dunking him and he got grumpy so I had to leave.
Anyway check out the last couple of pictures, they are of me taking my first few strokes.
I loved camping.

Going Home

I can't believe that I have a new home. When Mom and Dad came to pick a new puppy, I put on my best show. I attacked the evil shoelaces and when my Mommy picked me up, I gave her a ton of kisses and cuddled against her neck.

When we got home, I wanted to show them that they picked the right pup, so when I had to go potty, I ran straight to the door and cried so they would let me out. They were so proud of me. I got to sleep with them in the big bed, and I stole everyone pillows. I woke up in the middle of the night ready to play, but Dad and Mom were asleep, so I jumped on Dad to wake him up, I think I may have chomped on his ear a little to hard though!!!!

We went shopping and I got some really cool toys and some yummy treats. Everytime I go potty outside, I get one. I am going to be a really good girl so that I can get more.

I love my yard. There are lots of pine cones for me to chew on, and no leaf can escape me. I love to chase the balls that Mommy and Daddy throw for me too.

Mommy took me for a walk to the lake, and I decided that I was going swimming. I was scared at first but once I got my feet wet I was a happy puppy. This beats a bath any day. I also found a great spot to dog in the flower beds.

Daddy takes me to work with him everyday, so I don't have to be alone in the house. It is scary there all by myself. Everyone at work loves me and plays with me all day.

I love my family, I am so glad that they picked me.
