Birthday: September 1st 1997 Pet-Peeves: to move him when he is comfortable Favorite Toy: any rawhide chew Best Tricks: sit, rollover Arrival Story: Read a post at work that someone wanted to give him away. I knew a neighbor to the ad placer and was informed how badly they treated him. I went to meet Carter (then named Lucky), in his environment. He lived with a family and a beagle. I watched the two play so I had an idea of his disposition and how he acted with other dogs. I knew I was taking him the minute I heard of how he had been treated. He left with us that day and was never called "Lucky" again. He became Carter after Cris Carter of the Minnesota Vikings.
Carter was infested with fleas and had a scar the size of a quarter on his shoulder from an injury with a shovel. The scar never grew back hair and obviously was not properly treated at the time of the incident. He was my boy immediatly. We treated the flea situation and he wanted only me. The first night my husband came to bed to find me and Carter snuggled up. Carter didn't take kindly to the 'intruder' and growled. My husband figured it would just be better if he slept on the couch. After 3 nights Carter finally let my husband back in the bedroom. Bio: When I responded to the initial ad, it stated that the dog was purebred. Once I saw him, I knew he wasn't. But I didn't care. He really is a mutt, but if I had to guess.... 1/3 Minature Pinscher, 1/3 Rottweiler, 1/3 Chow. Forums Motto: my boy I've Been On Dogster Since:
