Arrival Story: For nearly 2 years my husband and I frequented a restaurant near a puppy place. And for nearly 2 years, before dining at the restaurant I went into the puppy place to look at the puppies. I wanted a dog but I knew that we could not have one as both my husband and I worked full time. Well, one day I resigned from my job and that freed me up to entertain the idea of realistically having a dog. One evening before going to our usual Friday dinner at the restaurant, we popped into a dog breeders place to have a peek at the puppies. We made our usual rounds looking at all of the pups. My husband called me over to take a look at some puppies. And oh my gosh! They were the cutest little dogs I had ever seen. One in particular caught my attention. When I picked her up she licked my face and it was love at first sight. I was determined to come back after our meal and have a look at her again. I must confess my husband was not keen on the idea of having a dog. But, I worked on him all through out our dinner, saying how wonderful it would be to have a little dog in the house. And since I was not working anymore, it made sense to get a dog! Sure enough, after dinner, I made a B line right to the doggies and found the little dog. We sat with her and held her. She was ideal. But, my husband was still not convinced. We left and I was crushed. I had hoped that my husband would agree to purchase her. The next two days were tough. I kept wondering if the little dog was still there. I kept running the idea past my husband and presented such wonderful scenarios of a little dog in our home. I was indefatigable. I was not going to give up. Finally, Monday morning arrived. I had climbed out of bed and made a phone call to my husband. I posed the question one last time and he said to me, “If you want the dog, get her!” Eureka!!!!! No need to eat breakfast or shower! I bolted out my front door and sped my way. With great anticipation and some fear of her being gone, but wouldnn't you know it the dog was still there! :) Sophie came home with me that day. I was beaming with joy! Not only was she so cute, but she was also potty trained! She knew how to poo and pee in a litter box! Go figure. That was a bonus. My husband took to Sophie right away and those two are the best of chums. They are inseparable and in fact, he spoils her to no end! You should see those two together! What goofballs!
Now truth be told, we were trying for a baby for quite a while. A friend told me that since we had a new dog in the house, I would have a baby. Sure enough, 1 month after we purchased Sophie, I conceived. Sophie came into our life for a reason! Nearly everyone who knows us says that Sophie was meant to be. In other words, our meeting was destined as we are a perfect match for each other. She is our best little friend and our lives have changed for the better because of her. Sophie, we love you!

Yesterday my mommy and daddy entered me in a Doggie Costume Parade! My town had their Fall Festival yesterday and I was entered into the contest as a .......PIG! Oh the horror!!! Everyone laughed and pointed at me in my pink piggie costume! My mommy kept calling me Suuuuieee Suuuuieeee! What the heck is that??? Well anyway, my mommy and I followed a whole bunch of dressed up dogs around and passed some people who were taking pictures and writing things down. By the time my mommy and I finished walking around, I was covered in mud. She said I looked like a genuine pig!! Humph. Some minutes later a loud voice called out my name and my mommy and I walked over to get my prize.....a doggie bed! How cool! My mommy has to wash my costume now. It is all covered in mud...I hope she forgets to wash it so that it won't be ready for Halloween. A pig....what do they think I am anyway! I am a dog! Sigh.
I used to wonder what was the benefit of having my hair cut. How I loathe to go to the groomers. But after this trip to the doggy salon, I am not complaining about haircuts anymore. I feel so much better now that I have a short cut! I am not as warm as before and well, all of those nasty mats on my legs are GONE! Yippeeee! Everyone compliments me on my coat now and they say that I am just soo cute and adorable! :) Teehee!
Well I keep hearing about groomers and haircuts....I don't know if I want to get my haircut!!! I am perfectly content with my tresses the way they are. But my daddy wants me to go for a trim. A trim means that I am going to get buzzed!!! EEEKKK! The last time I went to the groomers I came away practically a nudie patootie.......
