Arrival Story: I was looking for another dog,as I always want to have at least two dogs. I usually go to the animal shelter, but this time I was looking to adopt a greyhound or some larger dog. I looked in the newapaper and saw an ad for a Great Dane needing a good home. While the cost was lots more than a shelter dog, I have always wanted a Dane and this looked like the time to get one. The previous owners had to take in an older relative and Danes like to lean on people, so he had knocked her over a few times. I became the proud owner of a year and a half old Great Dane. He had basic obedience training, natural ears, and a great personality. Since getting him, I renamed him Cosmost because he "cost the most" of any dog I've had. He is a wonderful addition to my family of 2 teenage sons, another dog, and 4 cats.

Bio: Cosmost recently passed his Canine Good Citizen test and has just become a registered Therapy Pet through the Delta Society.
Cosmost became a R.E.A.D. recently.(Reading Education Assistance Dog)

Today started out like a regular Saturday. My owner sleeps in a little later than usual. She gets up, lets Terra and me outside, and gets in the newspaper. I get fed and Terra gets her 3 dog biscuits. Between 9:oo and 9:30am, my owner takes me to our nearby Dog Park. ( Terra can't go because she's not friendly to other dogs.) We stay an hour or two, depending on who shows up. Today, we left after only an hour. I wasn't too worried, but then we didn't go home. We drove towards downtown, then headed to Gulf Breeze over the 3 - mile bridge. We ended up at the Pet Fest 2006 at the South Santa Rosa Recreational Center. There were all types of pets there, even Sheriffs on horseback! My owner signed me up for the Most Talented contest and the Most Unusual contest. We visited all the vendors and I got lots of good treats. I also got 3 new bandanas. For the Most Talented contest, my owner had me heel at her side through several turns, sit, high five, take a bow and "pow" (play dead). I also drank from a water bottle that has a cap on it that you open to drink from. I'm not too messy when I do that.
When I went to be judged for the Most Unusual pet, I saw a young lady with a Bearded Dragon. She told my owner that I looked like a Dane her family once had named Neo. My owner told her that I was that dog. (My owner changed my name to Cosmost.) I had grown some since they had last seen me. I didn't recognize all of them at first. Then my memory kicked in and I started to play with my first family again. Everyone was so excited! It was wonderous. All my owners talked and we visited for quite a while.
Right before we were going to leave, my first owners came over to my present owner and me and told us that the owner of my parent dogs was here, too. ( There was some talk about her being a breeder, whatever that is.) I remembered her little daughter and played with her for a bit. This lady was happy to see me again. She said that I was almost as big as my dad.
So you can see why this turned out to be a Most Wonderous Day. I'm so pooped, I think I'll go to sleep and dream of today. Who knows what will happen tomarrow?
See ya'll soon,
Cosmost
