A good run with me trailing behind on roller blades was her favorite. Of course, a sudden stop to sniff was always a necessity when I least expected it. She also loved the kids leaving their food behind - she was more than happy to clean up for them!
Pet-Peeves:
When she knew the family was going out, she would refuse to come inside after her potty break. She hated being left at home with 3 kitties. I often wonder if they tortured her when we were gone. :D
Favorite Toy:
Fluffy squeaky toys were Meg's favorites. She would stomp on them for squeak effect, disembowel, and then toss the fluff all over the house.
Favorite Food:
Meg's food of choice was raw lamb on the bone. A close second was a peanut butter & cookie filled Kong.
Favorite Walk:
Meg loved to run around the perimeter of our community with me, the baby jogger and two kids in tow.
Best Tricks:
With mischief in her eyes, she'd go "Off" the cookie and turn her head. I'd then ask for "Kisses," which she gave as quickly as possible. Staying "Off," she'd then look at me saying, "I kissed enough. Now, gimme my cookie!"
Arrival Story:
My husband and I both agreed on a Siberian Husky; however, we disagreed on the color. I wanted a red, he wanted a white. When I met Meg, I knew she was perfect in personality and color. Unfortunately, my husband was not with me and I made the decision to bring her home anyway. That night as I told him on the phone about the perfect red and white piebald Siberian I'd found, she woofed. I was just about to ask permission and she blew it for me. I was caught!
Bio:
On December 6, 2005, Meg passed unexpectedly at home, in her sleep and a few feet from me. Results from her necropsy showed that she'd been suffering from cancer. She never let on, other than slowing down for her walks. A full blood panel a few months prior (her nine year anniversary with us) showed her in perfect health. Moreover, her annual vet check up revealed nothing more than minor arthritis. She was a family member, my constant companion, forever loving and always by my side day and night. I miss her terribly!

Wow Meg! Our diary made the "Dogster Daily Pick" today! How exciting! So many other worthy pups and yet you picked us as one worth visiting. Thank you Dogster!

Within the past few weeks two friends have lost their pets to old age and illness. So ... if you happen to see Dani or Ruckus, would you greet them with tail wags and butt sniffs before you help them settle in?
You know, whenever a friend loses their pet, I'm transported back in time to the day you died. It's still so raw after all these years. I think of you and Phantom often and we continue to keep the two of you in our prayers. Please forgive me for not visiting or writing more frequently. It just drains me to remember. I'm so sorry. You are not forgotten!

Mom seems to think I'm missing all that lovely snow in Virginia, but the fact is God gives us all that we need. Yes, Virginia, there is snow in Heaven. ;D
