I miss you so much.....You are still so close to my heart. One year was not long enough. You were truly the most special and I will never forget you.

My precious "Shy", You are forever loved and forever missed.

To my sweet sweet "big little girl" and my "pudger wudger". You are at rainbow bridge and your mama is trying to hold it together but it's hard. Shy passed while at the vet's office and was not alone. She was being held by the two vets and everything was done to save her. She passed on Saturday night, St. Patricks Day. I took her to the vet after her first chemo therapy because she was just so sick and miserable. She was only with me for one year; it wasn't long enough. I am lost without her.

After I got the five tumors removed my mama found out Tuesday that it was cancer (adenocarcinoma). The vet said if we did nothing, I only have six months left. If I have surgery and chemo then I have 12 - 18 months left. I had the surgery on Friday and chemo will start in about two weeks. The vet said the surgery went really well but didn't want to give us false hope. I am getting all this natural stuff on top of everything so my immune system will be strong and I should be able to heal faster from the surgery and handle the chemo better. We are going to keep praying and I will continue to get spoiled and loved. I am a very happy happy Shih Tzu. My two sons, Teddy and Henry love me too. They are always licking my face. Sassy is my buddy and I think we have the perfect family.

My Mama took me to the vet when she noticed more tumors on my belly when she was giving me a bath. I have five more that I have to get removed. The vet said that because of my history they are more than likely benign like the others. My mama says I am the sweetest dog ever and she loves me soooo much. I am happy, happy all the time now. I love Sassy, she is my buddy and Henry grooms me in the morning. I am a very lucky Shih Tzu.

Well I went to the doggie opthamologist a couple of weeks ago and the doctor said there is not an operation that is available that will correct my vision. The doctor said I have very little vision in both eyes. I have a condition called dry-eye. My eyelids do not close all the way and I often sleep with my eyes open. Because my dry-eye went untreated for so long, I lost most of my vision. My mama gives me eye medicine called "optimmune" twice a day. I will have a re-check in July. The opthamologist said it may improve my vision a little bit but I will have to stay on this medicine the rest of my life. However, I am doing very well and I am just so happy. My mama calls me her little muffin or Pudge. I love bully sticks the most but I am not aloud to bring them and chew on them in the bed. I like piggy snozzles too and I love to go for a ride in the car. I love all the tzu's in my family and we all get along great.

Well I think I'm finaly adjusting to my new home. I gave my mama kisses for the first time today. I stick to her like glue. Teddy, Henry and Sassy really seem to like me too. I am a very special girl; so they say. I'm not shaking anymore. I'm still on all my medication and my tummy with all those staples seems to be healing just fine. I still haven't barked; not even once. I am just quiet and sweet and like to be close to my Mama.

I've been through alot

My new Mama adopted me on March 1, 2006. She has three other Shih Tzus. Two boys since they were puppys and a rescue girl just like me. I think I like Sassy the best. Well; I've been looking scared and I shake alot. It breaks my new mama's heart. The first thing she wanted to do is take care of my medical needs. I got groomed very first thing; then I got all my shots and a senior blood panel. I had a UTI and an ear infection but that part is all better now. I then went to get spayed and have my mammory tumors removed (there were alot more than we thought; 13 total) I only have two nipples left. I have about 100 staples on my tummy now. They will come out in one week. I got my teeth cleaned and four teeth removed and I got my ears flushed. I also got a glaucoma test and I have glaucoma in my left eye and I get drops in my eye twice a day. I can see OK but I have depth perception issues. My mama has an appointment with the (expensive) doggie opthamologist in May. It was the first appointment they had. When Mama heard that the vet took out 13 tumors, she thought for sure it was the big "C" and started to research chemo and radiation on dogs. She spoke to the vet today and after six days the results from the pathologist came back and they were all BENIGN!! Yippee. I am starting to get use to my new plush environment with doggie beds and toys and bones to chew on and good dog food and treats too (they are my favorite). These other dogs have been real nice to me so I am beginning to feel comfortable. More later...bye :)
